License Plate Frames

Ok, so everyone knows what I'm talking about I hope, for those who don't <--- those things. I was thinking about getting some made that are like this.

----MOTORING ID----
............................
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
------ZOOM419------

What do you guys/gals think about this idea?

I don't like the look of license plate frames that obscure the state name and other wording printed on the plates, leaving only part of the letters visible. Frames like this with obscured plates look so messy to me:

We found these chrome frames that nicely frame the plate without obscuring any of it. I think it looks very clean and simple and nice, but no room for extra words like you are interested in. . .

It is a good idea though, for those who want to display their motoring ID somehow without stickering up their MINI!

Just a thought, but just about anyone who knows MINIs will know what a motoring ID is, and will know what ZOOM419 means. You could put something else on top, maybe? Otherwise, great. I just got my vanity plates last Friday, and am now looking for plate frames. Twist200 will be on mine. Hubby has Open300 on his.

I was at the local Target over the weekend and saw a license plate frame that would let you make your own message. Couldn't find it on the website...but next time I head back I think I might pick one up.

I saw it in a new sharper image catalog today.

I think this is one with a LED display:

my opinion - the best frame made available at:

www.becart.com

the BMW model fits a Mini perfectly albeit with shorter fasteners, if i recall correctly.

each one is milled from billet aluminum and is uniquely signed and numbered by Rodger Carter.

Plain chrome or stainless

I am hoping to find a simple chrome or stainless steel frame for front and rear without any lettering. Ideas anyone?

And I'm still looking for a checkerboard frame.

Good old Canadian Tire has all kinds of good quality frames. I put a plain chrome one on the front of my MINI.

I got a black frame for the front and a chrome frame for the back, two mount holes on top, Wings logo on the bottom. Found on Ebay. $6 ea?

try here (forget the screw caps)

The back one rattled a bit with only have two holes holding it on the top, so I hot glued the bottom of the frame to the plate itself. Worked great but had to go fast before the glue cooled.

My coworker with an MCS has that thing... Looks kinda cool but you have to be right up on his a$$ to read it easily.

I need a plate frame that reads...

"My Other Car is a MINI COOPER"

This is for my company Explorer so MINI drivers understand when I wave or look at their cars.

Maybe this should be on the SUV thread?
