Tear in door

Wellll..on my 2nd day of ownership a tear appeared in the vinyl on the passenger door, maybe a 1/2 long I assume it was done by boyfriend (who was the only passenger in my car). My question is has anyone tried those vinyl/leather repair kits that you can get online and how well do they really work?? I know you have to color mix to match the color of the door but that won't be a problem... Just curious.

Are you sure there wasn't a little hint of something already started upon delivery? It could have been one of the technicians with something in their back pocket that jabbed a tiny hole as the were exiting the car.

Only reason I bring this up is it happened to my hubby's MINI upon delivery. Technician had a screwdriver in his back packet and whamo... We got a new seat under warranty... Maybe the same for your door?

I didn't notice it and neither did the MA upon delivery when I picked it up...so I don't know if they would buy that.. I just talked to my MA and mini is going in for some other repairs next Tues and I guess they have a vinyl repair guy that comes in as well... She said he can do a patch job that should take too long and won't cost nearly as much as I was thinking the repair would....well see..

I'd try to complain at the dealer... You tell them nobody except you has been in the car since delivery.... bla bla bla... And make sure to complain a lot! Call you sales rep. Tell him about this.

I'm sure that if you hold your point, they'll get it fix for you.

I had to fight for 4 months to get a new leather seat in my MCS... They leather was not nice and tight on driver's side... I complained at MINI Canada and the dealer finally agreed to get it fix.

You could go to the dealer, that's what I'd try 1st. Then, I'd hurt my boyfriend!!

i would take it back to the dealership.

it shouldn't just start tearing under normal use.
(unless your bf was showing erratic behavior
due to jealousy )
