WebbMotorsports! Not sure where to post comment, so I posted here!!!

Hard Core WebbMotorsports customers!
Yes, WebbMotorsports over extended!
Yes, WebbMotorsports stretched too thin!
Yes, WebbMotorsports dropped the ball!

Yes, WebbMotorsports like a rubber band has stretched beyond its limit; however, they are bouncing back with a vengeance.

Now that we have your attention I would like to say that WebbMotorsports did all this with an attempt to satisfy, support and produce a quality product for the faithful following of MINI fanatics.

I spoke with Randy on the phone today and as a long time customer have been faithful throughout the whole process. They had created the ideal model becoming one of the most sought after product vendors for the MINI. From top of the hill racing and going down that path of self destruction trying to please the customer at every turn have finally started that long journey back.

WebbMotorsports has pushed out products, manufactured MODS, and even had a blast racing the MINI to show his product is top of the line quality. Doing all this I might add for the MINI cultist like myself.

I just want to say Randy and gang I am one customer you have not lost, and will continue to purchase products from you for years to come.

Thanks for all your hard work and true concern for the customer.

Unfortunately, there are some on the other thread who just won't chill out. They seem to be more interested in making an issue than in moving on with life. I hope WMS is able to get on with their life as a business.

Me too. They've been a pioneer in the MINI aftermarket since the beginning and I wish them all the best in their restructuring plans.

I have just got back from Littleton, CO and spent nearly a week at the WMS shop, hanging out with Randy and Brian.

I just wish all you naysayers (in the other threads) would do the same thing, because then you would really see how hard these poor guys work, and also how nice they are. They are NICE guys. Nice HARD WORKING guys. They try their hardest for ALL of us, even the ones that dont like them, they still go out of their way to help each and every one of you. They do it because they love what they do, and that shows in the products that they develop.

Vicki is there helping now, and that girl really is smart, and has everything together. Now she is able to check messages and return calls while the guys are wrenching under the cars. While I was there, there were 5 cars they had to finish, including a Turbo Elise job, and also a MINI race car conversion, which had a custom cage, extinguisher, cut-off switch , racing seat, $3800 out the door! The cage was custom and a very very smooth job at that.

Some might say that WMS is a part time business, but I am here to tell you that it isnt. Vicki is there during the day when Randy is out flying a 737, and then he wrenches when he gets back from about 6.30pm to 1am. Brian gets there between 10am and 12pm, then is with Randy until lights out after midnight. I do believe Randy is there during the day 2-3 days a week though. His UA schedule decides which ones.

Just wait until you see their new air-intake, in fact if you're in the market for one, hold out for the upcoming WMS one, you will be glad you did.

Please support this great little company. They are a jewel in the MINI community.

It'll be a bit before the intake is in the catalog.

Being an intake Ho I'm getting antsy.

Still have an Alta for sale very cheap.

I am certainly glad to hear the future is bright for Webb Motor sport's as I was certainly sadened that things looked bleak for a while. After seeing Randy's Lotus I had to buy one as I knew he was a great Mechanic etc and would a great and honest individual to mantain both my Cooper S and my new Elise just 3 week's old!

Randy took me for a ride in his 300hp Elise, and I was SHAKING afterwards. It's my new dream car.

Webb is the best in the business... You'll be hard pressed to find a guy that works that hard and is that chill to talk with. But, they're not a parts ordering warehouse, like Moss, so some people get impatient for their 'whatever' to arrive, then start slamming them online. Frankly, most of that doesn't even desrve a response, unless your a customer, and even then it should be handled between the two parties.

They continue to design the best parts for our cars, and push the envelope of what is possible. Just wait till you see what's next. Crazy.

They're the only ones I'll trust to even touch my MINI, outside of the dealership, and even then only if it's a dealer issue.

And thank you Brian, for hooking me up at MITM. . . everything is perfect.

Thank you Webb Motorsports-

-Loyal Webb customer-
-Steve

PS- Matt, how's the new head? I didn't get to speak with you for long up at Copper!

Is WMS going to work on a different /larger supercharger or have any comments regarding the subject? What new cutting edge things are on the horizon?

-Long time customer.

Actually Randy bought a Lysholm twin screw SC years ago. They are veeeery expensive so it didn't go much farther. That would have a a really sweet setup. A true compressor and much more thermally efficient that a roots/eaton design.
Since compressors run pre TB there would have been the need to redesign the entire induction system.
Technically a great thing. Financially not so.

Can't speculate on future stuff.

Hopefully, they do a better job of protecting their intellectual property (I am referring to the manufaturer of the CAI that they designed going direct) in the future. It kind of hurts to see someone else undercut the hard work that they did.

caminifan: It's not a mistake that will be made again, especially with the new intake. I believe they are bringing production of the intake in-house, with their exhaust - which also will be finished very soon.

sandtoast : great to meet you Steve, it was good to spend time with you CO guys. Hopefully we will see you and the others at AMVIV? As for the head... it turned into when I came closer to sea level. It was as if my 6th gear inherited 5th gear power, and 5th gear inherited 4th gear power, and 4th got 3rd's...... in short, my 5th gear HAULS ***. My new favourite gear. . What they say is true... Randy gives good head.

I hope they do more than bring production in house. Like patent what they develop (if it can in fact be patented). Bringing production in-house will slow infringement to a very limited extent; a U.S. Patent number gives one a stick to use to stop the infringement of your intellectual property. As an illustration, bringing production of the intake in-house will prevent knock-offs from being produced until the first unit ships. From that point on, it is only a matter of time (and marketshare) before someone tries to knock-off your creation.

It's sad that Randy has to keep this to himself now, but it's for the best. He needs to keep his products...well, his products.
