It means the Buick Lucurne is more popular than MINI....whatever.

Most Popular New Cars on AOL Autos

Where is the disclaimer saying what this is based on?
*Based upon some guy who looked out in the AOL parking lot and saw 25 different cars.

Doesn't really bother me. I'd rather not be driving around in a car that you see in every parking lot.

Every one on NAM do a query for Mini on AOL Autos. Let's see if we can jump right into the top 10.

AOL is only right if they love MINIs and put them at the top of their list!! Same w/ Car and Driver!!! Same w/ Consumer Reports!! Otherwise they're all ill-informed stupid poopy-heads!!**

**Disclaimer: these views are those of a MINI-enthusiast on a MINI-enthusiast we site and are not meant for distribution among the general public.

It could be based on units sold in the US. Maybe we didn't make the cut since Mini doesn't pump out as many autos

What is an AOL automobile polularity contest? Why it is nonsense of course.

The actual title of the list is "Most Popular New Cars on AOL Autos". Nothing about car sales or road tests or any meaningful ranking methods.

Except for 2 or 3 cars on the list it looks like the highest demand cars if you want to take a nap while driving.

Cheers,

Don't believe anything you read anywhere!!! Its all a conspiracy to get us to sell our cars and buy a buss pass or a Toyota Pirus.

That list looks like it was probably based solely on sales numbers. The MINI would never be on such a list due to its limited production...fine by me!

Agreed. This has nothing to do with actual demand relative to the number of cars available. It has everything to do with cars selling large volume. If you look at the cars on the list there is simply no way MINI was going to be on it based on how the list was constructed.

Normally these "highest demand" or "popularity" contest with cars is based on the average number of days a car stays on the lot. So all cars (regardless of volume) should have a equal chance. It wouldn't surprise me if the MINI is loosing a little steam, most cars do after several years. The MINI has done extreme well as far as popularity is concerned.

I believe this is actually a list of the cars most searched for on AOL autos. I wouldn't get upset about it. clearly the MINI set isn't going to use AOL for our automotive industry searches.

I doubt that it is based solely on pure sales numbers as the Solstice and Sky are not that high volume.
