Scrapping of the fender well...

Hi guys,

I kinda need some help here. I'm running on just Eibach springs with stock shocks (and a sunroof). After getting my new rims, offset 41 and tyres 215/45/17, I've developed a lot of rubbing/scrapping when going over bumps or when accelerating hard or when taking corners.

With the Eibachs, the ride height is perfect.

So i've bought the PSS9! (Drastic solution, I know.) Its for me to keep the height, and stiffen the damping so that I'd wouldn't rub.

Anyways, I remember coming across a "How-to" thread with photos of how to dremel off a portion of the fender arches but it seems the pictures have been removed.

Does anyone have any photos to show me how much of the fenders to trim off?

Any help here would be truely appreciated!

Look about the 2:00 position on the drivers side rear for places where the tire has rubbed and grind away!

Or you can do nothing and let the tire grind all the plastic off.

remove the sunroof and it will go away

j/k

Self clearancing is not a huge deal as long as it isn't too bad. Otherwise put your Dremel to use

You should get wheel spacers or go with a 205 size tire. If you don't want to do either of these two options, do like Joel said and get out the Dremel.

Thanks for your help! I had to ferry my gf, her mom and brother for a short distance last night.... and it was scraping ALL the way! Hahhahaa! Gf's mom wasn't too impressed! Hehehe oh well.

The good thing after that was, once i dropped gf's mom and brother off, the scraping were almost gone!

When i got home, and felt the fender well, there was a hole there already!
Soooooo, i suppose i know where to cut it! ( But i'm lazy, so am going to get a "specialist" panelist to do it..) But how much needs to go? Can anyone give me an estimation?

Those rims are ADVAN RGII wrapped in ADVAN AD07 tyres. It's actually curved from the center to the outer rim with side view. Will take some proper photos once it stops raining here!
