Nah, you're not desperate yet. They haven't even arrived yet. Desperate is when it's 4:00 AM on Monday morning, all of the suspension is off the only car you have, you need to get to work in 4 hours, you can't find a 37cent bolt that you need to put any suspension member back on yet, your pregnant wife is going into labor, the dog is barfing into your shoe, you drop a spanner on your forehead and can't see for the blood in your eyes so you roll over onto the work light, burning your cheek just before the bulb shatters and gives you a mouth full of broken glass and you still don't have the damned directions, your phone's been disconnected and your cell phone battery is dead.

THEN you're desperate.

Right now you're just anxious.

I am finished with the rear instructions, but I need to remove and re-install a front damper in order to complete the front set of instructions.

Until then, anyone can PM me with questions, or call me. I'll leave my cell # in a return PM.

defylogik,

I sent you a PM.

Michael

The flange, the upper and lower flange bushings, the dowel, the larger up-turned washer that sits ontop of the upper bushing and the two bolts that attach the flange to the body, and the lower bolt.

Does the rear oem strut have to be disassembled to remove any of these parts? If so, I guess I will need a spring compressor.
I plan on setting the new struts to be 1 inch shorter than stock and use this as the baseline. Just received my Megan's yesterday. The included documentation is pretty rough. Here is one page...

you need a spring compresser to remove the stock units, but not for the Megans.

I am about ready to pull the trigger on the Megans. Can anyone verify if I can use the front M7 strut tower reinforcement plates with the Megan coilover kit?

Also, I would very much like better installation instructions as well if anyone can help me out.

Thanks!!!!!

Yup! I have the M7 strut bar - this includes the strut tower braces.

As a side note, my Megans came with nuts threaded to the three studs on top of the red anodized camber plate. I removed these so that the camber plate sits flush with the bottom of the strut tower. with the M7 braketds above, the strut tower is sandwiched between the two. I've never had a problem with mushrooming since.

THE INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE COMPLETED BY JULY 31, 2006 - with some photos

Where do you good kind folk want the instructions to be? I can include pics and text here or in a new thread entitled Megan instructions.

Maybe these should be posted on the Megan site? If I place too many pics in my gallery I will not be able to update. Any suggestions are welcome but keep in mind I'm a very old computer moron.

hey if you need any help with illustrations or making them look nice lemme know. i do graphics for a living

oh yeah on another note, i dont know if you mentioned it, but on the spring is a number stamped onto it, the middle number in this sequence( xxx-xxx-xxx ) is the spring length in mm i believe (someone confirm) if you set the distance from the top of the spring to the bottom to that number you will have no preload starting out. use calipers (digital works best)

Mine have settled a little since I installed them (10,000miles) and I had to tighten them by about 5mm to keep them from rattling. I did Scooby03's also since they had loosened up.

So what it be a good idea to start out with about 5mm of preload so you don't have to go back and tighten?

Question for Meb, a little OT,...

or anyone else who wants to chime in. Lets say Im a little on the poor side right now and I don't want to buy and install both the Megans and an H-Sport Comp bar at the same time. I want to get the Megans right now. Do you think I can dial out a lot or all of the understeer by running the rears a few clicks stiffer? I did this on my Honda Si and it worked well, actually I was able to fine tune the balance for different canyon roads this way.

ABSOLUTELY! Remember, the rear spring rate is quite a bit higher than the front. When I installed mine, I had the stock bar. I set the front dampers at 12 from full hard and the rear 11 from full hard.

The Webb bar is on the soft side of the middle setting and it was a hair too much bar for Watkins Glen where the dampers where equal front and rear.

I wouldn't start out with a preload. After doing Brad's, I preloaded mine a little and they still needed tightening. I'm not sure if mine compressed more because of that or not, but it's easy to take the slack out later if they do settle. Make sure that when you tighten the lock rings, you really crank them down hard because they tend to come loose if you don't.

I just returned from an unexpected business trip - I've been out of the area for 10 days but I'll see what I can put together.

I was hoping to have two new front dampers in my hands by now - for goofs and giggles. I do not want to take the front end apart without the new dampers in hand otherwise this becomes a very time consuming task for the purpose of instructions only.

I will offer this as a go forward; I'm assuming that everyone has a Bentley Manual and so any info regarding the removal and reinstallation that is TYPICAL will not be part of the instructions. The major part of the instruction will be focused on adjusting the Megans before they are installed, and, how to drill the holes in the rear so that the dampers can be adjusted.

Sorry about the delay, but big business got in the way.
