R50/53 UPDATE : Oil Change from $180 > $25
UPDATE : Oil Change from $180 > $25
Hi! I just got back from Patrick MINI to have new Pirelli's put on ($60 vs the $120 that the Tire Rack Recommended installers quoted)...and found that the $180 dollar 'oil service' I mentioned in an earlier thread is different than just a simple 'oil change.' The oil SERVICE from what they explained includes a 40 point inspection and the replacement of the air filter for the a/c on top of a standard oil change.
A flat out oil change was around $55...I paid $25 (that includes the new oil filter) because I brought my own 5 quarts of Mobile 1 Extended Formula. I just thought I'd relay that in case anyone was interested.
So to summarize :
Tire mounting & balancing : $60
Oil Change : $25
Toll to Patrick MINI in Schaumburg, IL : 80 cents
Avoiding the mistake of going to Jiffy Lube (thanks to fellow NAM'ers Advice) : Priceless. Thanks for steering me away from Da Lube!

Going to Jiffy Lube, big risk. Having them complete a job the way it should be done, bigger risk. Having them do at least half the work they are supposed to do, small risk. Seeing a Jiffy Lube manager broken down in the middle of nowhere.. PRICELESS!
I met Blake and Shane today at Patrick as my a/c was acting up...
both are very courteous and real nice people to work with.
2 pointers:
1. MINI service opens at 9am (not 7:30am as with BMW...i started calling
from 7:30am and no answer. doh!)
2.When you get to the MINI building you'll see a HUGE orange cone on
the west side of the building. Just park by the cone next to the building
and step inside.
There's a waiting room for normal people, and then a nice waiting room
inside a MCSc in the showroom for enthusiasts.
