Silver Signal Bulbs

Has anyone seen these? Used them? Have an opinion? Have an alternate suggestion?

I love the look. Now I just need to know what everone else thinks

Will this style of bulbs darken the signal?

i have similar ones that mossmini sells, granted i think i probably would've went with these if i knew they were about 20 bucks cheaper

mine doesnt seem to reduce the light coming out of it... instead, they seem to make a slightly darker hue of orange.. if that made any sense

I have them, and I have another set in my clear tail lights as well. Love em!
IIRC, I got mine from stealthauto.com and paid about $40 for both sets.

I would like to know how these ebay bulbs are. I'd be hesitant to believe they are the "real deal" for that price.

But I bought the "real deal" here: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/

Look up the Philips SilverVision and the Osram Diadems. I bought the diadems for my wife's Cooper because I knew that they gave off a blue-ish pearlescent look that would be good with her Purple Haze paint.

For my MINI, I would get the SilverVisions which are more pure silver.

It is also possible to shoot a standard set of bulbs with a very light coat of silver enamel paint. I suspect that is what these ebay bulbs are. I might just be cheap enough to try this myself. . .

I sent the ebay seller a question asking what brand bulbs these are.

I bought mine from Stealth Auto part # 7507 for my '06 MCS....Love Them. They were $29.99 with a lifetime guarantee....had a lot of users recommend them over other cheaper bulbs.

Here are the before & after pics on my MCS

Thanks for the replies everyone. Great Information!

I am getting my MINI in two weeks and I have already bought a ton of "stuff" for it. This is one of the last things on my list.

i had polarg bulbs in several cars. the last set burned out within 6 months of mild use. I dont think this is a mod worth doing for me since i'd rather get other things for my MCS at the moment. This would be one of the things i would do maybe if i ran out of mods and didnt care about paying $30 bucks for a pair of small bulbs... hmm nah, i still wouldnt do it anymore

I bought this exact set from the same seller. I love mine and in fact ordered another set to give to a motoring buddy helping me install boot stripes and tail light tint. I have no idea how long they will last but I love mine and would order order them again. They will get rid of 95% of the yellow hue cast by the stock bulbs. The lighting has to be just right for you to see the amber of the bulbs. They are also plenty bright when in use.

Mine were actually a gift....but Yes! I am crazy eek2:eek2::impatient so Thanks for noticing!

I read your info & had I not received them as a gift I would definitely go the painting route...and will if mine ever go out (saved the factory ones just in case)....much cheaper than any pricey silver bulb out there....whether that price is $9.99 or $29.99.

What if you want to go the OTHER way and make the white driving lights orange (so the entire thing is amber)? I have an orange car, and besides, I think the white look is a bit odd. Maybe on a black car with all the silver, but...

I believe those bulbs are the same ones as the amber colored side turn signals in the stock S side vents. Just go get an amber colored wedge bulb and you will be set.

But if you really want that warm amber glow, you GOTTA get the PIAA Ion-Crystal amber colored high beam bulbs!

I have a set and love them, but you might crap when you see the price which is right in line with JCW Crap!
