Sunroof Cover/Car Cover

Has anyone heard of or seen a cover that would fit between the sunroof(s) and the retractable screen(s)?

I live in Texas and in the hot summer afternoons when I get in my car my butt gets welded to the seat .

I'm thinking of something similar to the Mini Cooper sunshade, part number 82110146451, but made to fit sunroofs. Could there be a market out there for something like this?

I've been looking at car covers and would like anyfeed back on who has what and what seems to work the best.

Thanks in advance .

Here you go...these look like the same shades I have for my Touareg and they are heavy duty. I like it.

Car Cover

I have used a cover on different cars for 20 years, mostly in Arizona. A cover will make a big difference in confort and saving the car.
Get NOAH or Stormguard material.

Thanks guys , I appreciate the feedback.

I ordered the covers from Stratmosphere this week. I'll post a report when I get back in town and try them out.

UKSUV, you da man .

Thanks for the tip. I purchased the entire set and they work great!

My wife drove the car while I was gone and she agrees, the difference is amazing.

Thanks again.

I'm saving myself $45 on this.

I went to one of those stores that sells groceries, diapers, clothing, TV's, sporting goods, toys, appliances, hardware, and auto parts.

I found a $5 set of small collapsible sunshades (Auto Expressions Baxis Magic Shade), the kind with the springy wire. One of these fits perfectly in the large sunroof and my mother in law will be helping me to shrink the second one with her sewing machine this weekend.

I'll report back when it is done, but even just using one of these makes a big difference.

Today, I went to measure what was necessary for my mom-in-law to cut down the other springy sunshade to fit in the rear sunroof, but discovered that with some careful and tricky arranging, I could get the large one to fit in there quite nicely.

$5 is quite nice price to eliminate and reflect the sunlight and heat entering through the sunroof. . my cost for my sunshades was half the cost of shipping the other set discussed here.

Well I read your post after I ordered, but in a few days got an email from Strasmosphere (sp) that the credit card # was wrong. So I called and got an answering machine saying they would call back. Hung up and saved $62! Starting with thin white cardboard until I can figure out what Yuacca Patrol did.

Unless I hear those expensive ones are just superfantastic...........

Thanks!

Red

If you get a cheap normal reflective folding windshield one that is 24 inches in height, you can cut it in two and it fits perfect. Does the whole sun roof. I think mine cost 3 or 4 bucks. You could even sew down the cut edge, but who's looking. (I can't even sew a button on, so I'm leaving it as is. ) Actually, the one that I got was just right, because the front portion was exactly 4 folds and the rear was 3. That was complete luck though!
Remember: Measure twice, cut once.

Went to Auto Barn today, bought a $3.99 Standard Size (32" x 57") Type S Ultra Refective Shade, the one with blue refelctive on one side, silver on the other. NOT the one with the cloth back that I use for my windshield, it may be too heavy.

Two cuts and it looks fantastic. Nice and thin, each bound on three sides, can't really see the 4th, and it won't come apart

Looks Good and saved $58.
NAM Advice: Priceless!

regards,
Red
