Electrical Bluetooth and SIRIUS Radio?

Here is a MOT1000 BT setup ... works great. The car also has XM radio (via blitzsafe and xmdirect)
Well wait a sec, Do you use the MINI radio to control XM? Because my dealer gave me the install when I picked up my car for free...Do you use an external speaker for the bluetooth?

Yes. Look up Blitzsafe and XMdirect. Lots of threads on that. Simple connection using the CD changer wiring in the boot, all hidden away. You will never know its there interally.

Yes, on purpose. I chose not to use the car speakers because the external speaker is so much better. There are also threads on this but put simply, stereo speakers are a comprimise having to reproduce the entire range of human hearing, usually 20 - 20000hz. Human voice, however is a narrow range of those frequencies. The external speaker that came with the kit was specifically designed to reproduce the human voice. The speaker is tucked away, out of sight, under passenger dash.
The whole setup is very cool and my wife, who uses the car mostly, says BT is the BEST option. Its kind of spooky hearing a call come in and this disembodied voice talking to you ... scare the hell out of you if you didnt know what it was
Very cool. BTW, the MOT1000 is the top of line from MOT handling 4 cell phones. There are cheaper versions handling one cell phone.

OEM is more expensive than aftermarket, and may have less options, but I just love that "designed to fit perfectly" feel of OEM stuff.

I would like to get OEM bluetooth that uses the buttons on the MFSW rather than add an afterthought tack on thingy on the dash. Unfortunately to get that you have to order it when you build the car. It's not like the factory alarm that is actually installed at the dealer.
Don't forget Mikey's integrated EVO Kit!
My 2006 MCS has nav, the h/k stereo and the Blitzsafe/XMDirect in the boot. For Bluetooth handsfree, I'm using Mikey's fully-integrated EVO kit. This kit taps into the stereo's wiring via a custom-built harness (no cutting necessary) and also taps into the car's Multifunction steering wheel phone buttons.
When a call comes in, I press the "talk" button on the steering wheel. The stereo mutes and says "Phone", the nav display changes to show "Telephone" and I hear the caller through the car speakers. The only thing I can see other than 100% pure OEM stock is the small microphone that I put at the top-left corner of the windshield. Nothing else is visible.
When I'm done talking, I hit the "R/T' button on the steering wheel or just wait for the call to be disconnected on the other end in which case the kit terminates the connection automatically. The call ends, the stereo unmutes and then shows whatever source I was last listening to; usually XM.
I can alternatively use the phone's buttons to answer/end calls, or set up "magic words" in the EVO car kit itself so all I have to do is speak "Telephone" to answer/end calls rather than pushing buttons.
BTW, if your phone supports voice dialing via BT headsets, then you can also initiate calls that way. Set up the "telephone" keyword in the kit and then just say "Telephone" followed by the voice dial tag from your phone, or say "Telephone" to answer/end the call.
My other half has the CK3100 kit (with the small LCD display) in his truck and that kit even synchronizes with his phone's contact list so he can scroll through names using the kit's LCD display. Sadly, there is no MFSW integration option for that kit, so you won't be able to use the car's steering wheel buttons. That's OK for me as I keep my phone in the cupholder so I can see its screen when a call comes in.
I love my EVO kit because it's the closest you can get to fully integrated without paying $1500. The moto kit is nice, too, if you don't mind having the little module stuck to your dash. I like using the steering wheel buttons instead, but of course, YMMV.

Note that while the Parrot Evo kit is a very good (and much more cost-effective) solution than the OEM one, my understanding is that it still doesn't integrate quite as well. I'd probably like to do a full side-by-side comparison sometime if I can find someone with Nav and the Evo kit down the road.
Bluetooth Kit
Coulds you give me an idea where I could find Mikey's kit?????

I'm looking at getting and installing some kind of bluetooth hands-free kit. My wife wants to know what happens when she drives the Mini? i.e.: Will it work with my phone when I'm driving the Mini and then work with her phone when she drives the Mini? What if we're both in the car?

I have ordered the new Mot ihf1000 for my Greta. I had the Alpine bluetooth unit in her but since I was adding it to my Alpine head unit with Sirius module it would NOT work. My installer call Directed, they stated that the Alpine bluetooth units did not work with any SAT units.

We have two phones bonded now so the question would be, which one would it "take first". If you have the phone on anywhere near the car (even if the phone is in the house and the car is on) it will bond. I do not remember reading anything about a "primary phone" but then again, directions and I dont always get along

This is an experiment I will have to try one day
As to switching between phones, it does that automatically. As soon as you turn the car on, it seeks a mated BT signal to bond. Maybe it just takes them in order of how you initially bonded and rotates 1, 2, 3, 4. I know that part definitely works because I rarely have a cell phone on me when we take her car because she ALWAYS has hers. One time I had my phone and she not her purse and it immediately bonded with my phone.
