Has anyone out there replaced the stock steering wheel with an aftermarket one from Sparco, Momo, etc? If so, where did you get it from. I have been searching all over and cannot find anyone selling one with the adapter for the S.

Do you plan on racing with your MINI? I can't think of any other reason to want to get rid of your air-bag!

No, but I like some of the aftermarket type wheels for their feel and design. Mostly a matter of personal pref.

The sparco's fit - there is a hub to make it fit - looks good. I am planning on doing a sparco wheel as well once I go to full race seats and harnesses and cage.

One word of caution....removing the steering wheel and replacing it with a wheel that doesn't have an airbag is illegal and could cause problems when you goto sell it....so keep the old wheel in a safe place and replace it down the road when you move onto another MINI (god forbid we would buy anything else)
