Tire pressure for 215/45-17

I'm getting 215/45-17 Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires put on this week. Can anyone suggest what tire pressure I should go with? The manual doesn't list that size in the chart with the suggested pressures... should somewhere between 33-36 psi be ok?

It wouldn't. The sensor work by sensing the vibrations of the tyres. The more vibrations, the more likely it is flat, thus triggering the alarm.

It will affect it,each tire has monitor on it,if there is a difference in pressure caused by pressure loss, the monitor will go off, long before it goes flat.

Hmmm, I want some of what you guys are smoking.

The tire pressure monitoring system works using the ABS rotation
sensors on each wheel. It records the rotational circumference of
each tire after a reset is done. I believe it then compares L-R of
the front and rear wheels when the car is driven. If a discrepancy
is found on one of the axles (a tire which is low on air will have a
smaller circumference), the light is turned on. I do not believe
it compares one wheel against the stored value, nor do I believe it
compares front axle to rear axle. I say this because I have on occasion
neglected to check my tires for extended periods of time <gasp> and
then found all of the tires down by quite a bit (8-10 pounds) but each
had lost about the same amount of air and the monitor did not turn on
light.

Do some searching in the wheels and tires section and you will find lots
of info on how the system works.

Be aware...

The F1 GS-D3's are SO sticky my convert is more prone to trailing throttle oversteer in the dry. I WILL NOT be adding a sway bar to the back of my convertible!

Also, being a track day neophyte (sp?) I put about 42 psi in mine for the track day and school I went to. (At the Dragon a few weeks before I did serious wear on the outside edges and that made me decide to try a higher pressure just for the track, I mistakenly was reading what some autocrossers were saying vs track use.) At that pressure on a wet skid pad at a constant speed and throttle the car broke loose with OVERSTEER every time. Didn't expect that in a FWD with stock suspension. Even for track days don't go too crazy with raising pressures.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE these tires. Awesome awesome grip.

Im running 39 on each corner and it seems to be best. When I run lower in the front, it looks like the sidewalls are squeezing a little too much. Im getting even treadwear on street, but on the track, I need to drop the pressure
