Exhaust question for a race mini...

On a race mini that is not a daily driver would it be benificial to just go with mandrel bent straight pipes w/ no muffler or cat?? Back in the day I done alot of research on forced induction cars and found that the more flow the better I was wondering if its the same on a mcs?? I know you couldn't do it for a daily driver cause its a environment killer... What kinda sound would it be also?

LOUD....and I would recommend if its a race mini cut the battery box out and just go straight back out with a straight pipe.

Or if you are going to drop a fuel cell in, with the oe tank out you could dump it right before one of the rear wheels then build a nice rear splitter out of all the room in the back.

Remember that some tracks have sound level limits...

Many tracks have a db limit, and it's usually quite restrictive.
I was using a Minimania header, no cat, into a Miltek resonator and straight out the back with the battery box removed into a Flowmaster 40 series muffler and it was quite loud. Ask Snid, he hated it...
Worked very well. It was just able to pass at two tracks in the northeast.

I would recommend still using a cat,

there are a lot of high flow cats available, also they will not bring a check engine light, regarding the muffler, like Onasled said, a lot of track now check for noise, so you will need a muffler.

Also the Mini being a small displacement engine does need some back pressure, if you run a straight pipe from the header back, I will not be surprised if you actually loose power.
