An issue with the convertible top and a few questions
Several times since we purchased our '06 MCSC, we've experienced an issue with the rear driver-side window. When we bring the top back up after a fun day of motoring it seems the rear window gets stuck on the way up. Upon closer inspection, it seems it hits the outer rubber lining on the way up instead of seating itself neatly into the groove where it should go. I took it to get it serviced a week or so back and today the same issue popped up. Has anybody else had or heard of this problem before?
Another question if you don't mind, on the rear seats of the cabrio above the headrest. Are those loops considered functional roll-bars? I'm asking because certain track events require roll-bars to be installed in all convertibles whether it be OEM or aftermarket. I've tried searching for roll-bars for the MINI convertible and all I get are hits to sites calling those loops roll-bars. Any type of clarification would be appreciated!
One more minor, possibly humiliating question. Why do people call there MINI convertibles cabrios? :impatient

1) I haven't had that exact problem. My rear windows often stutter on moving up and down. Dealership relubed them which helped for maybe a week. But of course mine doesn't do it all the time. So planning on having it looked at at Inspection 2
2) Yes, those are very much functional Roll bars. The Chrome is decorative, but they are solid metal underneath all the way to the frame.
3) cabrio is short for cabriolet. Cabriolet or cabrio is the term used in Europe. So just like Boot and Bonnet, we reject Mini USA's use of convertible for our heritage

I have had the following "back window" problems with my cabrio in the last 6 months, all happening when I put the top up or down (not when I manually open or shut the windows):
1) one back window goes up, the other stays down;
2) back windows only go down halfway;
3) crescent shaped scratches.
Can't decide whether I want to bring her in or just accept these problems(There's something about a "virgin" non-adulterated car that appeals to me - it's never been in to see the dealer).

The cresent scratches are due to the windows needing to be adjusted from what I understand. The only fix is to replace the rear windows (warranty) and they adjust the tracks. Mine is going in next Monday for that (plus some other things).
I am running into a similar problem. When the right rear window goes up it gets caught in the rubber track on the top.
I can get it to go up smoothly if when the top starts to go up I press slightly out on it from the inside and the window will go up perfectly.
Is there any adjustment in the top to get it to sit out slightly or by bringing the window in?
If this is confusing I can get a picture of it in action and post it. Thanks.

I had crescent scratches on both rear windows. Dealer replaced them both under warranty and never had a problem since (12 months later). I'd get them fixed while you still have warranty.
