[Hawaii] Oh great back to cute

So who saw today's Island Life (front page) section of the Honolulu Advertiser? http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ap...604160318/1076

What won over DeButts is the Mini Cooper's sportiness, maneuverability, "and it's also cute," the Hawai'i Kai resident said.

"I think 'cute' is something that is attractive, small, streamlined, innovative ... like some cell phones," said DeButts, a computer technician.

Cuuuuuute yeah dat Cooper?

--Oh DaKuteMINI (Deanna made me do it!) j/k don't kill me! That was neat cuz Deanna was just reading that article and she was laughing how they were saying the cooper was cute, and then I see your post. It's all good man. Actually I thought what the DeButts said was right on. It's a car that you shouldn't drive if you need to compensate for...something else. I mean I get ribbed all the time about it at work and I just laugh it off. It makes people wonder what I've got under the hood that makes me smile every time I step out of my cooper.

Hey here's somethinig else that is cute but extremely cool...

Happy Bunny rocks!! For those of you who aren't acquainted with Happy Bunny here's a link to most of their cooler posters:

http://www.allposters.com/-st/Happy-...rs_c58322_.htm

Have a look, I like the one with the lipstick on the bunny butt. That one should be my cubicle flag at work.

I think the general public thinks of our cars as rolling teddy bears. Most performance motorsports enthusiasts look at our cars as major competitors. Anyone who's been to a superlap race knows better than to discount Barry's or DK's MINIs. We get respect. It's just different.

Believe me, I know Happy Bunny as I have to go to Claire's every week with Jenna (my daughter). Another similar thing is David & Goliath goods (which we always have to check out when at Ala Moana).

Yeah, I get ribbed about my hibicus stripes (even the SLS guys sort of gave me a hard time in one of the monthly results write-ups) on my MCS. Oh well....I "think" I'm cool with them on.

CW, you mean Pocket Rocket no? Yeah but is that clock-wise or counter-clock-wise?

You guys should try driving around in an "old" Mini for a while.

It usually goes like this.
(girl / woman rushes up)
"Ohmygodthatsthecutestthinginthewholeworld... did you know they're making a new one?"
"Why would I want a new one, this one works perfectly fine."
"What year is it?"
"It's a 1971."
"Wow. Did you know they're making a new one?"
"Yeah, I owned one for a while."
"Does it look like this?"
"No, it's much, much bigger."
"Why did you get rid of it?"
"I'm allergic to air conditioning."
(blank stare)

Nah... Usually they're really nice. I guess I can't expect everyone to know the history of the Mini. Or that they made 5.3 million of the original mini from 1959 to 2000. (crazy, huh?) ...and it usually is a good looking woman telling me how "cute" my car is. That's not a bad thing!

Best license plate frame I've seen for a Mini so far - "What are YOU compensating for?"
