Calipers: rebuild or reman? andCheap Rotors
I have ugly, aging calipers at 65,000 miles (in Wisconsin), including two winters and 20+ track days a year. I have used the Mini rebuild kits (boots and seals) twice because of the heat damage from summer track use. At this point I am looking to replace the stock calipers. Checker Auto has remanufactured calipers. They are $49.48 (fronts). The remans are done by Cardone, a reputable remanufacturer. You also pay a $35 core charge; when you have installed the 'new' calipers, you return your old ones and get the $35 back. This seems to be a good value.
Another browse took me to rockauto.com, who will send you OE rotors for under $20 for rears, and $25.79 for fronts. Be sure to check whether the price is per set or for each. These are made by Raybestos.
Of course I would expect some reaction to using these brands, but they may be worth it if your budget is limited.
