looking for install work in Raleigh

I'm considering getting a H-Sport 22 mm rear bar for my 06 MCS and I'm loking for installers in the Raleigh area.

Thanks

I can recommend a great guy in Thomasville but I haven't had any contact with anyone in Raleigh...

It's about 20 minutes southwest of Greensboro. Right off of Business 85.

It's closer to me than Flow in Winston... haha

This is the guys' site. Dan Zipkin's his name and he's installed all my performance stuff. I'm actually getting a pulley from him next week. :D

Davis,

Raleigh is a tough place to get a Mini serviced. I had Krause & England do suspension work my '02 and was very happy. They also installed the ST40 Stoptech brake kit. The parts were shipped from Turner Motorsports to Peter's shop and every thing worked. But then they are use to working on pretty exotic race cars. They are your best bet locally. They are off highway 70 out by CarMax off Barefoot Industrial Drive.

Dan at Grassroots Garage is great to work with but it's a little like taking a trip to Mecca, a pain in the butt but well worth the effort. It's one thing to simple bolt a part on the car. But you also need someone who understands if it's really doing what it’s supposed to. It’s too easy to just waste money on aftermarket parts to make your MC handle like a garbage truck. Dan knows the Cooper better than anyone I’ve met and he’ll steer you down the right path with your modifications. From Raleigh you take I-40 to Winston, then I-85 business towards Charlotte. It takes me a few hours from Apex to get to Dan’s Shop.
BTW, you probably don’t need that big a bar. You might want to map out your ultimate goal with the suspension before buying any parts. The best modification I have made (for the money) was adjustable camber plates for the front shocks and lower control arms. Dialing in the camber and toe has made a huge improvement with the car’s handling on the track.

Good Luck,

a) Dan is THE MAN, b) I put the HKS Comp bar on the back of mine and, set it to the middle setting and it's a little rough, but boy the cornering is better, c) djdport66 is right, you should map out your intentions--I'm an opportunist and am going about my mods ENTIRELY wrong and know it, however, at the end of two years, it'll be just right! ;-) So far, rear seat delete, CAI, RSB as mentioned, Boost guage in air vent, Wet Okoles, other little doodads--still have crappy V-spokes and run flats, can't run in SCCA stock class, etc, however, I can haul my two dogs with ease, and all these parts are part of the ultimate plan to build a track car, once it's no longer the wifey's car, and keeping her happy in the meantime...

If you are interested in doing it yourself with help and advice from fellow MINI owners, many of which have don ethis install themselves, we were talking about doing a work day one Saturday soon.

I'm not too familiar with mini's, but install of my rear sway bar on my mazda took me under an hour. Seems like a simple enough job you should DIY if you ask me.
