R50/53 the preferred dealer in soCal is......?
Hello everyone,
I am looking to buy a Mini. Whether or not I choose the base model or the S will be decided on testing driving both and factoring in the cost. I have read the arguments for and against both models so I'll take all things into consideration. What I need help with is in choosing the dealer. I live in southern Ca and have several to choose from. For all who have purchased in soCal - which dealers should I avoid and which have been great??
thanks for all help

Bought from Crevier in Santa Ana; Christian Banks was a pleasure to deal with. Avoid Brecht in Escondido, bad take it or leave it attitude, won’t deal or return phone calls and definite price gougers at $5,000+ over for a MCS.
There's many comments in the Dealer Rating system. I suggest looking thereas well in addition to this thread.
p.s. People from SoCal are driving out to my dealreship (MINI North Scottsdale) to buy.

...in another state.
Jerrygee isn't kidding about Escondido, and Christian at Crevier is a very nice and knowledgeable fellow. But the fact is, you really need to order from another state. Long Beach and a Bay area dealer are the only CA dealers not gouging. Oregon and Phoenix are the next bets but all of these dealers are overwhelmed. You need to go to UT or TX. I custom ordered my MCS from a TX dealer and it arrived on the lot about 3 weeks later.

If you really want to buy in California and you don't mind waiting and you don't want to get gouged, Long Beach MINI and East Bay MINI in Pleasanton are your two choices.

They're not in SoCal, but my brother just placed his order with East Bay MINI in Pleasonton and he's been thrilled with the experience so far. They have a little bit of a waiting list, but they we're the only dealer in the Bay Area he found that wasn't gouging on price. He was treated rudely and totally blown off by Mountain View MINI. Take your test drives in SoCal, but if you don't feel comfortable with the dealers, the drive to Pleasonton might be worth it.
Best of luck to you!

I purchased from Irvine Mini and was overall very pleased with the experience. The parts and service teams are great too!! I dealt with Phil Macias who was straightforward.
I was there on Saturday having the alarm installed and they have 4 "S's" and a few coopers on the lot right now. Worth a look or call anyway.

I personally got a GREAT Deal at Assael.... I paid MSRP Sticker $17k..... WOOO WOOO!
But this was way back, 11 months ago...
When you buy a MINI, no matter where... Know what you're talking about and don't be afraid to tell them that you don't NEED to buy it from them. They know about other dealerships prices... it's supply vs demand... And lets face it... the demand is lower now than 6 months ago, use that to your advantage... Dealers will cry that they will lose money if they sell at MSRP... That's BS... they alot themselves a buffer... we all know the dealer price is under the MSRP.... It's Dealer Greed... slap them around... if it takes 2 weeks to get a great deal.... great...
Just try to keep your APR under 6%.....!
GOOD LUCK!
