My First Mini On Order!
My First Mini On Order!
Hi! I've been "lurking" here on this great forum for a long time and finally decided to go ahead and order my first Mini from Mini of Charleston. Visited the dealer Saturday and went for a test drive and was immediately sold on it. "She" will be a Chili Red S/White Roof with the six speed auto as I am "clutch-challenged" along with the Premium, Cold Weather, Sport, Convenience Pkgs, rear fog, chrome line ext., chrono, and HK stereo. Having a mom originally from Wales helped steer me in the right direction towards being interested in the Mini. I'm looking forward to learning more about this great car and thank everyone for all the great things I've learned already!
Welcome! My mother-in-law is from Scotland and my wife was born there so we've got the UK connection too. Watch out though...these forums will make you want to buy all sorts of accessories!

Suzanne,
You might like to surf over to my site and take peek of my recently purchased Chili Red MINI Cooper S, I've only got 648 miles on it so far.

If you are willing to learn how to magically shift a 6-speed (it's really not that hard to learn) you'll have more fun in the long run. Although, I would imagine the auto just as nice a MINI too. Either way it's a really nice car.
I've got all sorts of English, Irish and Scottish roots stuck somewhere in me and have been driving German cars for years. This little MINI is a hoot to drive so, someone is doing something right over there! The MINI is a combination of a lot of European manufactures, built in Oxford, UK and carries a German VIN# and owned by BMW - wow.
Glad to hear your joining in!

Welcome Suzanne, you wont regret your decision to join the ranks of the MINI converted. Did you ever try a standard or did you go for the auto straight away?
With a little practice you could master the six speed easily and I'm sure that would make your Mum happy (as well as you). She probably never saw an automatic car in Wales
Good luck with your new car, don't forget to post lots of pics when the big day arrives
