to launch or not to launch

Hey whats up, im taking the car to the track with a friend of mine, but ive never really tried to launch the car. anybody have pointers on how they launch their MCS auto.
remember its an auto. does it just require some easy power braking?

My MCSa launches horribly. But that is partly due to the tranny and my runflats.

I normally launch @ 2500RPM with the brake to the floor. Thats 2 feet driving the pedals. I haven't launch @ higher revs because I know its killing my tranny and my brakes.

Car is in SD downshifted to 1.
I then give car 75% gas off the line and then once the tires grab smash the gas.

Doing this my car has reached 15.1sec @ 91mph.

Know that if you do several runs back to back the engine will get heat soaked BAD. I usually wait 30min between runs to keep them consistant. I will loose .1 sec on each consecutive run if I do them without a cool down period.

Here is another tip, put your foot to the brake and have your other foot on the gas pedal, apply gas until you feel when the car starts to move. See where the rpm is at and that can help you determine a good point for launch i.e. tell you where to hold your rpms at when stagging. Do not do this for more than a few seconds, you do not want to over heat your tranny! Just give it some practice and when you line up at the lights always go at the third yellow light, not at the green light. Practice is key! Every car is different when it comes to launching! Autos are the best when it comes to staging and running on a drag strip. I have many many friends who race their cars on the drag strip and come compete as their main hobby! Practice practice practice.

Basically find the stall speed, I know on factory cars it is normall really low, like 1100 rpm. It would be trick if somebody made an aftermarket stall converter for the MCSA.
