anywhere in bay area to rent a manual shift car

Anyone knows where I can rent a manual shift car
in bay area. I placed an order for a manual MCS, but
I have not driven a manual for decades
I need to rent a manual shift for a few days to refresh
my memory!! I ask most of the big rental companies, none
of them carry manual shift.
Any suggestion??
Thanks in advance!

You can even rent a manual MINI: http://www.specialtyrentals.com/

It will be difficult to find a manual from one of the major rental companies. Smaller companies (like the above) carry more exotic models with manual shift, but they cater to special occasions and high rollers, so expect to pay a premium price.

a lot of people refer me to specialy rental, but the cheapest manual car
they have is almost $200 per day. Kind of expensive.
Does anyone have a cheaper suggestion?

Awww come on. If you were good with a manual shift even a few decades ago(I learned on a 3 spd on the column in '68) you'll do just fine. Surely life has taught you to have more confidence in yourself. ;-). You aren't going to ruin it and if you really need some time behind the wheel then just set up a test drive with your mini dealer and say you want to test a standard a few more times before it arrives. It's just like riding a bike.

How about going to dealers and test driving a lot of manual cars. Honda, Toyota, Porsche... not to mention the 4 Bay Area MINI dealers.

Don't you have a friend with an old truck or Honda? Maybe someone you know has a not-so-precious manual they'd be willing to loan you for a few hours.

find a preformance driving school that provides the cars, you get some track time and a chance to refresh yourself on a manual

My son is moving, I am sure he could rent a manual shift van and if you help him load and unload, he'll let you drive.
