Talk me out of selling my MINI

I only have room for one car in the garage and the FX35 is looking mighty tasty right now. Please talk me out of it or make an offer on my Mini.

Don't do it! It's a trap! Be sides, the next time you need that 1/3 size parking space at that new cool restaurant you'll be missin' that Mini. I mean how are ya gonna feel when that long line of Mini's passes you by on the way a really fun event.. hmmmm?

Cheers

Uh?

Don't do it!!!

Kidding. That's apples and oranges. Like asking if I should buy a kayak or a sailboat. They are so different and for such different tasks I don't see any way to compare them, to each other anyway.

Assuming the MINI has been a good thing for you, I'm guessing you are thinking that your needs/wants have changed... I'd think either that is the case or you've drastically changed in what you value in a vehicle. If they've changed drastically then...

Are you going to have the car and spend the $ for what you NEED, or what you WANT. That's the first decision. If we're honest with ourselves about that first basic question then it's a little easier to figure out the rest.

Can the FX35 fit here? http://www.break.com/articles/paralellparking.html

You just need a bigger garage.

Have you driven an FX under the same conditions that you drive your MINI Cooper?

I had a chance to drive one and liked my MCS even more afterwords.

C'mon, you KNOW you'll miss your MINI.

FX35 YIKES!!! Maybe it's just me, but how could a tank like that be as much fun as a MINI??? Now really, are you sure that's what you want to do???

What kind of drugs did you take to come up with that conclusion?? I think I need some

OK, everyone is saying Don't do it, I'll use reverse psychology:

Do it. You'll be happy you traded in one of the coolest cars for a standard looking SUV. When you're paying $70 at the pump to go 200 miles, you won't miss your mini. You won't miss the supercharger's whine, that thing sounded so ugly anyway. No longer will passing girls admire your car, because you no longer drive a "cute car" You've conformed to the All American Male SUV and have now become just another face in the crowd. You won't miss having the MINI when you open the doors in the garage and have to be super careful so as not to hit the wall. You won't miss being nimble to make that other quick lane change when you need to get over.

You won't miss it. Wait and see.

When searching to find out what a FX35 is. I came across this in a review. "Delivering 18.7 mpg in mostly highway driving". One good thing. I heard their forums do group buys like we do. Only theirs are for gas, soccer ***** and Mcdonald kids meals.

Just kidding. Get a bigger garage so you can have both the MINI and FX35.

Well if you need something for cargo/family reasons fine, but otherwise this sounds like one of those stories that, months, years later ends with....I'm back!!!

OMG - Did you hit your head recently? If you really need something to haul stuff with, get it - you can still leave the MINI in the garage! Our Subaru got evicted as soon as Emma came home! Remember, friends don't let friends drive SUVs

wait.............................................. .................................................. ......

until May, drive the dragon, then we need not say a single word. if time is more pressing go a little east this weekend and find a canyon road with a bunch of switchbacks, or go drive up US 101. The MINI will show you why itshould be in your garage.

FX35's are cool cars (suv).

but it will never replace a MINI... unless you think MINI's are just
simply an ordinary 'car.' :impatient

but if you're looking for an INF, get the real deal. 04' G35C 6MT with
brembo's. nothing less. ok, slighly biased. but it still won't
'replace' a MINI.

Don't do it. "Crossover" vehicles like the FX35 try to be all things to all people and just wind up doing nothing well. Bad fuel economy, poor handling, bad traction in foul weather with the stock tires, and they often have less cargo capacity than a mid-sized station wagon. Might as well wear a sign that disparages your intellect.

If you feel compelled to get one of these jokes on wheels, be honest with yourself and admit that it's not a rational decision and that you're only buying it for its looks.

I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I find such vehicles offensive...

You buy it, and I, or someone else who cares for your well being will poke you violently in the eyeballs and kick you square in the shin!!! Ok, happy motoring!

The FX35 is very cool, I love the styling.

But err, what are you trying to get out of a vehicle? Good handling? (MINI), look good? (MINI) Seat 4? (FX) Haul stuff? (FX, but its a rather poor choice too)

if you're just commuting I can hardly see the point of going to the FX, but if you just want soemthing new to excite yourself, why not!

come to think of it, keep your MINI in the garage and let the FX reside
outside. that's wat i would do in such situation.

Last Saturday it was about 53 degrees in Manhattan. I was feeling blue and decided to take my S convertible for a drive around the city with the top down. Times Square-Soho-the Village to the west side. I had several people smile and give me the thumbs up. A tourist took a photo of the car. This lady stopped by and smiled and said "nice car". The MINi makes you happy inside.. and makes other people happy as well... See if you can get such reactions in an FX...
