FS: 2005 JCW MCS EB/B 28.5K miles

I have for sale on an excellent condition 2005 Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper Works kit. This car was purchased in December of 2004 from Classic Mini in Mentor, Ohio. The car has been garaged it’s entire life, and sits in a parking garage during the day. This car is completely stock and has only OEM parts installed. No modifications have ever been made to this car, and the car has never been raced, on a track or autocrossed. The car has 28,500 highway miles and is current with it’s service. The car has had all it’s service performed at Global Imports in Atlanta. It has had its brake pads replaced at 27,500 miles. It still has it’s original run flat tires, but they will need to be replaced soon. This car has the following options:
  • 210 bhp JCW kit (Serial No. S5190)
  • Anthracite Interior
  • Automatic Climate Control
  • Moonroof
  • Factory Alarm
  • Euro parcel shelf
  • Auxillary stereo cable
  • Rare OEM factory phone holder (only sold through Mini of Germany), works with any AMPS compatible phone holder for any model of phone
  • Electric Blue w/ black roof
  • Black factory bonnet stripes
  • Premium package
  • Xenons
  • Rain Sensing Wipers
  • Auto dimming mirror
  • 6 –speed Getrag Transmission
  • Lightweight 16” V-Spoke Wheels
  • Fog lights
  • Chrono Package
  • Grey Leatherette interior
  • Black Carpet Floor mats
This is my second Mini Cooper S, that I have purchased. The vehicle does not contain the following options for the listed reasons. This car does not have the Sport package, because the 17” wheels are very heavy and negatively impact the performance of the vehicle. Additionally the Sport package comes with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), which again interferes with the driving dynamics and negatively impacts the performance of the vehicle, all other Sport Package options are on the vehicle. The car does not have leather seats. The Mini leather seems to be weak my previous Mini prematurely wore out and subsequently had to be replaced. The car does not have the cold weather package, because it stays warm in Atlanta. The car does not have LSD or anthracite headliner, because this was not offered at the time the car was built. This car is extremely quick (0-60 in 6.4 seconds), and fun to drive. The car purchased today configured above would carry an MSRP of $31,000 with standard installation costs. To find a completely stock Mini Cooper S is rare. This is ready to go for you to take home and modify to your desire. Additionally there are no taxes on this car, which is a savings of almost $1500 at 6%. Finally, I am willing to deliver the vehicle free of charge to most major cities. If you are interested in the vehicle contact me, and we can make arrangements regarding delivery. My intention would be to drive the vehicle to the major city and meet you there for pickup. The only cost would be the mileage incurred during the delivery. The vehicle is located in Atlanta. The savings on the delivery costs is anywhere from $1,000-$1,500. If you are stuck on a waiting list, or being charged exorbitant dealer markup fees. This vehicle is for you. If you are willing to purchase out of state, but don’t want to pay the normal $1,000 delivery fees, this vehicle is for you. If you are looking for a stock vehicle that hasn’t been modified or torn apart, this vehicle is for you.

Condition:
This vehicle is in excellent condition. This vehicle has never been wrecked, and all items are in excellent working condition. The tires have been rotated and balanced by Mini, and have normal wear for the miles on the vehicle. A few minor chip marks on the bumper. No major scratches, dings, or marks. The vehicle has less than the typical wear on the front of the car. No noticeable wear on any other part of the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection. Please contact me for availability regarding inspection. The remainder of the factory warranty (4yr/50,000 miles) is still intact, including all of the JCW equipment.

Delivery:
I can deliver the vehicle to most major cities for free. The cost of delivery will be the mileage incurred by me driving the vehicle to the designated city. This could be a very good deal for someone near a major city. Alternatively I can offer the winner of this auction a plane ticket to come to Atlanta and pick up the vehicle. I can offer a plane ticket from any city that Delta or Northwest flies to. If bidder prefers, a normal shipping service can be used in lieu of the delivery indicated above. Please contact me prior to close of auction to discuss delivery, as this may impact your decision to bid on this vehicle.

Payment:
This vehicle is being offered for $25,900. This value is derived from the blue book pricing. The Kelly Blue Book pricing for this car as a private party sale without the JCW kit is $21,465. This is 84% of the price of a brand new non-JCW vehicle with the same options and miles. I took 84% of the cost of an installed JCW kit ($6000) which is $5040. I added this price to the Blue Book value of $21,465. I then lowered the price an additional $600 to pay for the replacement cost of some new tires. Which can range anywhere from $380 for Yokoham AVS ES 100, to about $600 for the factory runflats.

No warranty is provided except for the remaining factory warranty and is sold as is. Title and JCW certificate will be provided to bidder on delivery or pickup of the vehicle. If you would like to pick up the vehicle using my free airline ticket, I will provide the ticket after receipt of all funds. All financial transactions must be completed prior to the delivery or pickup of the vehicle.

PM me if you have any further questions. There are pictures in my Gallery. More can be provided on request.

That's one of the best write-ups I've seen here on NAM. Very proud of my fellow Georgian.

And a hell of a car, if I might say so.

No LSD on the car. I would have for sure ordered this option, but my build date got moved up some and I missed it by about 45 days.

If you are a good driver, you will probably not notice the LSD, especially on the street. Although I would assume on the track it might make a bigger difference. I just couldn't tell much of a difference on a LSD equipped MCS that I drove a while back on the street.

It is the best car I have every owned and it is a ton of fun. But I am trying to reorganize my finances (kids are starting to need braces....), and I put a lot of miles on my Mini (120 a day). I can afford the car, but the expected repair costs may get expensive, and I am about 45 miles from the dealership, and for a car that I will have about 180,000 miles on in 6 years, I did want to start spending $800 every time taking it to the shop. Plus with gas prices this isn't the most miserly car out there.

I am purchasing at the exact opposite of the spectrum. A chevrolet Aveo hatchback. It is $8900 with my discounts, there is no electric or power anything to break, it makes about 33 mpg on the highway, compared to the 26mpg (on premium fuel) that my Mini was getting. And everything on the car is cheap to replace. The tires themselves are only $40 each for 14" wheels. I figured if I am going to kill a car on miles, I should do it on a much cheaper car.
