R50/53 The MINI and the Meade telescope
The MINI and the Meade telescope
In the January 2006 edition of Astronomy, Meade telescopes uses a CR/W MCS in their advertisement. It is a large 2 page image for one of the companies large Dobsonian Lightbridge telescopes. The caption reads; "Sapce is infinite. Your back seat is not."
It is nice to see the MINI used in print media that has nothing to do with the automotive world.
Sorry I have no capacity to scan the advertisment and include it here.
But, you can see it here on their web site; http://www.meade.com/

Nice! I have an 8" Dobsonian Reflector made by Celestron... I haven't tried to fit it in the MINI yet though. (note: for those who aren't in the know, 8" is the measurement of the mirror that's mounted in the bottom of the scope, not the size of the whole telescope... THAT would fit in my MINI, of course
).
).
Yea MINI!

P.S.: When someone sees me take a cue stick out of the boot, I say "That's why I don't golf."
8" Orion Dobsonian for Xmas
We're getting a telescope for Christmas (tomorrow!). I had it delivered to the office because the box has identifying markings and the kids don't know about it. I had to take it home in my MCS. The box was abou 2'x2' on the end and about 5' long.
I brought my MCS to the loading dock and got a lot of laughs. I put down one side of the rear seat, pushed up the passenger seat and the box slid right in.
(I was planning to shove it through the sunroof and have it sit in the passenger seat sticking out the top but no-go: it was on top of the shifter.)

I just found this out by accident while looking at their site!
