BONNET TOP, CoooooL to the touch....

This really surprised me when I got home after just tooling around for 45 minutes or with my daughter after leaving Steak n Shake. I mean I have never laid my hand on the hood of a car after driving for an hour and felt no real discernable heat. It is a little cooler here, but this is Orlando, it's probably still 65 degrees outside.

Is it just the double metal hood or is the intercooler keeping the heat from radiating up from the engine? What is the collective opinion?

I know there must be some heat coming up because there are cat dirty paw prints from hanging out there at night. Now I know I wasn't racing around or anything because my 2 y/o daughter was cruising with me, but it was a surprise. COOOOOOL...

I noticed the same thing the other night after giving it a good flogging. There was little to no heat coming from the actual intercooler area, which surprised me.
