Who played in the snow today?

In Chicagoland, we got enough snow last night to have a bit of fun.

I was up before sunrise and took an early morning run up Sheridan road. Some parts were plowed and salted, but there was more than enough loose snow to make things interesting at close to the posted speed limits.

I took the semi-secret boat launch road in Highland Park http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr...64103746131775

and almost got stuck on the uphill until I flipped off the DSC and got some revs and tire-spin going.

Who else played in the snow today?

Played Last night

Hello, yes the snow was fun and the DSC is great for control, but find a big parking lot, turn off the DSC, and pull the E-Brake and a turn and WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE having fun now.

Ok.. so I wimped out on the first snowfall... I took the MINI to get a car wash and neatly tucked it away in the garage for the weekend. I plan on looking for a big parking on the next snowfall to give it a spin

if by playing in the snow you mean taking an hour and 15 minutes to get home then me me me . This was my first snowfall in my mini and it performed admirably. the traction control is a really nice feature.

I wanted to play in the snow but the gods were not so kind as to provide any. I know why they didn't, it is all my fault, I had just put on my snow tires. But the winter is young and there still might be time to play before spring.

Put the snowshoes on the MCS last night. Pirelli Snowsport 210s on Kosei K1 16" wheels. Got to play today in the 3" - 4" we got this afternoon. Note to self: Mustangs should be outlawed from December through February in the snowbelt. 75% of all the disabled vehicles I passed today were Mustangs.

i saw a couple of MC's doing very well in the snow today.

i was in my Legacy so kinda zipped on by without waving.

saw a yellow/white MC on Devon and Rt53 around 6:30pm and another
green/black around earlier in the evening in Schaumburg around
5:30pm near Higgins and Meacham. it was a real crawler today, huh?

I did it!!! Snow, snow, snow!!!

First drive in the snow in the MINI. The traction control felt odd at first, but it really helps at stoplights No sliding around while coming out of a dead stop... very nice

I did a little Xmas shopping with a friend from work and we ended up cruising Golf Rd (passed by Walmart and Best Buy) Took her home and performed a really fun hand-break turn in her cul-de-sac I guess I should have told her I was gonna do it before I pulled the break I was very impressed with how it handled at higher speeds. Everyone else was going about 15-20 mph while I was zipping by at 35-40 on barely plowed streets. I'm now considering getting snow tires

If I knew I didn't need to shovel the driveway, I would've stayed out longer. I like snow!! I like snow!!!

I cleaned the driveway tonight - only the half needed to get my wifes 9-3 in the garage. The day after Thanksgiving a couple of weeks ago she had the MINI out and she couldn't even get it up the driveway when she returned home

The MINI isn't going anywhere till I get 15's with snow tires on it.

Report from the fields of Oak Brook

Hello Kids,

The news said we had 9 inches on the ground, so I hit the road after Lenos opening mon. WOW, DEEP snow in the Oak Brook area. Went to my fav parking lot to find it wide open, BUT, too deep, yes too deep, did drive around and found one that had been plowed and played

I love steering the the hand brake. It's more fun with the DSC OFF, but very nice on the road with mini-vans and SUV's .

Well, The Sun comes out Friday and I'll be shoeing the golf course.

Later Dustin:impatient

yah, that was quite a bit of snow last night.

my civic which sat on our driveway all day yesterday looked like a
demented cake with a THICK 9" frosting on top this morning.

the community does the shoveling for us (well, we pay a
assoc. fee) and they use TONS of salt so the driveway
was actually kinda dry. the air is super dry!
