I am selling a 2003 autodim mirror for the Cooper/S. I am asking $85 with shipping. It is in very good condition with no sracthes...

 

does anyone know if this is adaptable for a car with no auto dimming? if so, i am guessing there is some kind of power required to go to it. Has anyone retro fitted this to a car w/o auto dimming i would like to know. thanks Wen

I would be interested in your mirror if you could tell me that it will be "plug & play" on my '03 MCS. In other words, I do not want to have to fish wires up the pillars and through the headliner. Thanks.

 

I can take a picture of the wiring harness that is in the mirror. Unscrew your mirror from the headliner and check to see if there is a 3 wire plug connector. The wires are black, grey and white. Let me know.

 

I rather doubt the wiring is there but it might be. I think, though, it is part of
the wiring for the rain-sensing wipers which is why they are sold as a set. The wires to the mirror are +12V, ground, and a wire which indicates whether the car is in reverse or not (the mirror un-dims when the car is placed into reverse gear). Sorry, but I don't remember the color code. I had to reconstruct the connector on mine when it got smashed as I was re-installing the mirror after an AUTOX. I have since just turned the mirror 90 degrees to my line of sight when autocrossing.
