I'm going to hit 100k KMs

In the morning on my way into the city, Winnipeg, I'm going to hit 100k KMs.
Anyone else up there? Hows it been. I have not had one issue with my MC in 40k KMs.

But the sevice at 97k KMs cost $900

Congrats lot. I hit 90,000 miles on the way to work today (144,840.96 km). The biggest problem I've had has been the leaky coolant tank, which after two dealer ones I replaced with an aluminum one. Oh, and I seem to need tires every year . I should be at 100,000 miles (160,000 km) by AMVIVIII. gonna be there lot???

Ouch, what did they do?

I'm almost at 8000kms in 5 months, and I'm having lots of fun driving the MINI in all kinds of weather!

Your Lucky!

I'm at 65K and I've been having mad eletrical problems. I think I've brought my car in about 4 to 5 times since I got it in April. Costed me 1200 bucks because they found a problem with the aftermarket stereo. But after I got my car back in October, it died on me twice. Today my car wouldn't start in -20 weather and I was late for my final exam... just my luck I think...

I'm so jeolous!

I don't get as you northerns, lowest I've had this year is 14, has been down to -15 in the past. Have yet to have any problems with it starting, cold or hot.

I'll leave the Canadains thread alone now, someday I'll get up there though

A whole page full of stuff. Oil/filter, plugs, fan belt, new brake fluid, flush coolant, airfilter, cabin filter, and more stuff than I can remember, can't find the invoice. But I did talk to the tech. and he told me it takes over 3 hours to do the 4th service.

Sorry to hear about your problems

In my first winter, I did not have a block heater, and my MINI started, even when the temp guage read -47C.

Is your car cranking over? Also its a good idea to turn the key to the on position, and wait till all the dinging and dash warning systems clear, takes a few seconds. What this does is give the fuel pump time to prime the injectors.

Also, use only premium fuel. These cars will run on regular, but are designed to run on premium.

If I remember right, the block heater cost about $280, installed.
The block heater heats the coolant, not the oilpan, as the synthetic oil does not get thick in the cold.

The good thing about heating the coolant, is the whole block is warmed, so all the seals stay warm, and when you start the car you have slightly warm air right away

The block heater also turns itself of when it hits a certain temp. so it is not running all the time.
