I have a SIRIUS question

Other than the OEM kit or buying a Sirius radio that you could install into the aux port are there any other ways to have the Mini OEM head unit contol Sirius...any aftermarket tuners? I know that XM provides a kit to hook up directly to the OEM units, but I really want to install Sirius.

Hi! No real good answer to your question, but I bought the factory Sirius, antenna and adapter from Classic Mini in Mentor, Ohio. They're a N.A.M. sponsor so they're easy to find. They give a 20 % discount, so the deal was $220 for the unit, $95 for the antenna and $60 or so for the adapter. It took me about an hour and a half to install. Check out my install in one of the other posts. I believe I outlined it pretty well, and if you have any questions, my cell number is 216-469-0915-Cleveland, Ohio. Having the OEM Sirius allows you to use the steering wheel controls-if your MINI is so equipped. It's really a joy to have it work this way. If you're down on bucks, the Kenwood unit plugged into the aux. port is a good way of doing it, and it has a remote control unit, so it's kinda like steering wheel controls. Good luck. Mike Predina
