Anyone know the difference between the Neo iOn and the SP? It's not clear to me from the web page.
Is it really controllable through the MFSW as claimed?
TIA

Dang, this sounds better than my Icelink+ in that it has a "direct mode".

In "direct mode" full control of the iPod is gained, your iPod menu system and click wheel are enabled.

Now do I get rid of my Icelink+ for it?

It looks like the SP will display the text and allows full control of the iPod, it will allow you to select different artists, songs and all your playlists...

Not bad for $10 more!

Anyone have this yet? I would love to hear a review of this adapter. I had the BMW Ipod solution in my MC and hated it. I have been Ipod-free in my MCS for about a month (researching all available options) and it's killing me!!!

looks like the Neo is actually an Icelink+?

http://forums.ipodlounge.com/showthr...threadid=76995

quote from a purchaser:

I ordered (or thought I ordered) a Neo Ion SP from the mp3yourcar.com website. The site shows pictures of the Neo and describes it.

Today I received my shipping confirmation from Neo Car Audio and it lists a Dension Icelink Plus as the product being shipped.

Never knew such a thing existed. Wonder if this would work with my iRiver MP3 player? Probably not. Perhaps they make one. Or maybe I could break down and buy an iPod, who knows.

What specifically does the icelink do? And what advantages does this unit have over the icelink? If you have a link explaining the icelink, that'd be fine =) Thanks

I emailed them to ask about this. The Ion SP is the Ice-Link. The Neo is not.

Thank you for your interest in the Neo Ion. We stock the Dension Ice
Link in addition to our product so I am familiar with the differences.
The biggest difference between the two is the control of the Ipod. With
the Ice Link, you have either direct more or playlist mode. In playlist
mode you are only accessing your playlists and controlling those
playlists from the factory controls (your ipod screen and controls will
be disabled). In direct mode you can use the ipod to view and control
tracks, but you can only control the tracks on the ipod itself. With
the Neo Ion, you can control and view the tracks from the Ipod at any
time, you can also use the factory radio controls and steering wheel
controls at all times.
If you have a pre '05 head unit, you won't have song display anyway, so for a $10 savings, and it also gives you a spot to plug in an aux unit as well. Dunno. I'm waiting to see what Blitzsafe's price will be.
