OEM SIRIUS Part Numbers

Hi all,

I want to add the OEM Sirius install to my MCS (with Nav). I have read up on it here in NAM... I know that I can do this, but I have to use a separate antenna. I have priced out the Terk antenna for this purpose (model SIR-MINI), for $35 at etronics.com. I have a few questions though:

1) My main thing is that I want to know exactly what BMW/MINI part numbers I need for the other pieces of the puzzle. As I understand it, there are two parts I need - the reciever module itself, and some kind of "power" cable or something. If anyone has the correct part numbers for those items, please let me know!

2) Also, is the "CD changer trunk install" the official (and only) install method? There isn't a way to wire it all up directly behind the head unit?

3) Finally, is the OEM Sirius receiver a single-input or dual-input one?

Many thanks.

The factory wires are there so that is where people put them. Besides how the heck are you going to get at the magazine if it is behind the head unit?

You misunderstood me... my question was in relation to the OEM Sirius install, not the changer itself. I understand that the "standard" install for this is done via the CD changer cable. I was asking if that can be bypassed, simply installing the Sirius receiver hooked directly into the back of the head unit.
