Stone chip repair

Hi guys,

I found a kind of big stone chip(about 1 mm dia.) the other day when I washed my MCS.
Do you have any instruction(procedure) to repair stone chip?
I got a Mini's tach-up paint kit already....

Thanks,

I use a toothpick with the tip flattened (hit your counter top to make the tip flat) and apply the touch up in layers. depending on how deep it its, you may need to do 6-7 layers (coats) or even up to 13 layers like i had to do on mine.

Get the paint so it is slightly convex let it dry for 2 days. Take a
1500 grit and wetsand it so it is at the same height as the surrounding
paint. finish off with a fine compound like ScratchX to polish it up along
with the surrounding paint.

He meant, Mini Touch Up Kit.
The steps stated above are perfect. I have also used the new touchup
pens on other cars. Has a brush tip on one side and a ballpoint tip on the other side. Not sure if the Mini colors are avail yet. It works well too.
Touchups take practice. Take your time and dont rush it. Be sure to let it dry for a few days as stated above.

It looks great!
I will investigate it and I'm also curious to know how I can handle the clear coat stuff, though.

Happy Motoring!

Great Info. Just what I needed!

I went to the autovisuals.com web site & found the code for the BRG Metalic.

But I'm not sure which is the correct White code?

Pepper White?

Any ideas.

Thanks, Robert.

I had a good experience using http://www.paintscratch.com. I had a 1990 911 C2 and bought their spray can kit (basecoat and clearcoat) to paint some new mirrors. It matched perfectly.

Haven't had to paint my MCS yet.
