Oakboro is a small town out near Albemarle, NC that lives for Cruise-Ins!

George Kail is setting up a drive before the Cruise In at Noon. More details to come about when and where we'll be meeting.

Once there, we can all hang out, look at all the cars, and have a bite at the Fountain Grill. Yay! No turkey leftovers! Our reservations are for 1:30 at the restaurant.

Please let me know how many cars and folks will be joining us for the day! I need to give a count no later than Tuesday, November 22.

Our meeting place to leave for the drive to Oakboro on Saturday Nov 26th will be at Jitterz Coffee House.

This Saturday morning Nov 5th I will be driving the route to Oakboro to check it out. If anyone would like to help or just join in you are more than welcome.

I will be at Jitterz at 10:00 AM and leave for Oakboro at 10:45 AM. Even if you do not want to go on to Oakboro stop by Jitterz and join me for some coffee.

What's going to be the route, George? As Oakboro is on my side of Charlotte, I'd like to meet up with the group somewhere along the route rather than go all the way into Charlotte and double back.Also, some of the folks at the Columbia meeting Sat expressed an interest in attending this.

We are going to meet at Jitterz Coffee House to start the drive. It is located in the Shopping center at I485 and Rocky River Rd. The exit number is 36 off I485. I think we are planning to hang out there for about an hour and have some coffee and check out the MINIs.

It is not but 26 miles from there to the Town of Oakboro. On the planning run this past Saturday were able to add a few more miles and some back roads. The drive will only take about 45 minutes. We will be approaching Oakboro which is located on State Route 205 from the west by way of Big Lick Road.

Bob, since you will be coming from the opposite direction you may want to meet us on Main Street Route 205 in front of the Fountain Grill.

It would be great to have a few Columbia MINIs meet us at Jitterz or they may want to plan a route. They could go through Weddington and Monroe and up Route 200 to Big Lick Road.:smile:

Sarah, has said we need to be in Oakboro at 11:45 AM. We will meet at Jitterz Coffee House at 10:00 AM and leave at 11:00 AM.

Before that Saturday, I'll hopefully have a location for us to park together, as given by the folks in Oakboro. I'll post it if so... but Oakboro really isn't that big, so I am sure you'll be able to find us pretty easily.

Oakboro is looking forward to having us! I spoke with Jerry today, and he's setting up our reservation (for 10 so far) at the Fountain Grill for 1:30.

I'd like to join you guys but at this moment, I cannot commit to it. If I get to do it, it will likely be a "last minute decision", based on what's happening at home with the family. If you will accept a "maybe" from me, then put me on the list. I won't know for sure tho, until that day.

Do you take late-comers? My husband and I might be able to drive up from SC tomorrow morning. If so, we will join you at Jitterz at 10. If not, hope we can make the next drive. :smile:

Wow! What a great day for a cruise-in!

We all had a great ride parading thru the countryside. Thank you so much George for mapping out a nice route!

There were some really hot cars there, but the MINIs seemed to be quite the attraction, especially with Luke showing off his chromed out engine!

We WILL be doing this again next year sometime. It was great to spend the afternoon with everyone.

Glad you guys had a great time. Really wish I could have joined in on the fun but family obligations interceded with my plans. As this is a constant event, we can surely plan another event in the spring. Thanks for coming up with this, Sarah.
