Your Pulley: What brand? What size(%) and why? Where did you purchase? Satisfied?
With so many choices I am curious to what fellow NAMers have selected and why? I am ready to purchase and would like some "real world" feedback. Thanks.
1. Helix/RDR (www.helix13.com)
2. 15%. Standard size... A performance boost with no need for ECU upgrades or larger injectors. Seems most either go with the 15% and few other upgrades or go "whole-hog" with a 19% and a bunch of other stuff. I don't personally know anyone with a 17%.
3. Installed by Helix in Philadelphia, PA.
Worth every penny.

Alta 15%. I love it! After doing extensive research and speaking with several people, I went with the 15% from Alta. It was clear that the 15% was the right size for me, but in terms of the manufacturer, I don't think it was a critical choice. Just go with a company that has been around a while and will most likely continue to be around for a while. I have confidence in Alta, but many of the others are equally good.
I'm also a 15% disciple as it will be a very noticable improvement over stock, yet will still be 100% reliable. Mine is an Alta, installed by Randy Webb at one of his pulley parties. I recommend a pulley party wholeheartedly, bench racing, true technical expertise, great chili (thanks Minzilla), it's just plain fun.

Good luck with yours.

helix 15. installed by Eric @ Helix. went 15 because of unknown reliablility issues at time (year ago) with 19. loved Helix then still loving my pulley every time i drive the car!
for you angular momentum fantics:
1. the power to accelerate (change its RPM) a rotating body is proportional to the moment of inertia and the square of the RPM.
2. the moment of inertia is basically proportional to the mass and the square of the radius from the axis of rotation.
3. the crank pulley has about 4 times the mass of the steel sc pulley, located at about 2-1/2 times greater radius.
4. the sc pulley rotates at 2x the crank pulley.
i think what this means (two beers down) is that you would get about double the angular momentum benefit from changing the steel crank pulley to aluminum as you would changing the steel sc pulley to aluminum. Dr. Obnox...

Some one going to tell me why Not to get aluminum?
