Drivetrain Your Pulley: What brand? What size(%) and why? Where did you purchase? Satisfied?
IMHO the best!
Helix 17% (P&D)
Six screws hold this two piece all stainless steel precistion machined pulley together.
Has your pulley loosed up on the blower shaft yet?
Mine hasn't and I don't expect it ever will

Nope, the belt size isn't there.... but i was told by a fellow mini friend to use the JCW's belt as it's tighter than the stock belt.
Any ideas 16% pulleyers?!
Maybe i should just go for the Alta 17%.... oh just that little bit more eh!

Does the 16% pulley keep the SC revs with its recommended limit?
I was going to go with the 15% because of reliability issues... and was wondering if I can push it a little with a 16% and still be within operating limits...

A lot of good reading on the subject: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=redline
In my opinion, based on what I learned in the above thread, you should observe a 6750rpm redline with an M7 pulley to avoid exceeding the SC redline, which is believed to be around 17,200
Having said that, I don't think the sky will fall if you occasionally exceed the SC redline. Where we're more likely to run into trouble is if/when we constantly or consistently exceed the SC redline. This should not be a problem for a car driven on the streets of Charlotte
since CMPD will relieve you of your license before you have a failure.
However, on a car driven extensively on the the track, it would likely shorten the life of the supercharger.
It's a balance. BMW/MINI opted for safest/least likely to cause warranty claims. Others, such as the starter of the above thread opted for max boost. I find myself somewhere in the middle, using an M7 pulley with JCW injectors and a tune... and still considering a +3% crank pulley. I mean, after all the early wailing and gnashing of teeth around 19% SC pulleys died down, the most credible criticism still seems to be that they don't make as much power as some had hoped due to losses from a hotter charge. And, with the continuing development in intercoolers and scoops, that may not be especially critical any more either.

I have a 19% pulley, JCW Injectors, GIAC ECU Remap, all installed by Eric @ Helix.
Awesome job by Eric, and the car is INSANE to drive!!!
I have had no problems so far, and don't expect to...

Some one going to tell me why Not to get aluminum?

- supercharger shaft is steel: CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion) is radically different than that of aluminum , would be possible in hard use to loosen .The ideal situation is where both components expand and contract at equal rates.
- Aluminum is no where near as strong as steel as far as resistance to wearing out, yeah even if the belt is rubber and even if the aluminum is anodized. there is alot of dirt in the mix between the two components and it acts as a rubbing compound. You would always want the belt to wear out first ($19-25 vrs. $400 installed)
Hope that helps. Jock
PS Alta 15 %
