I have a Pilo intake which I originally purchase for my 03. I thought about the swiss cheese mod but never got around to it. It's similiar to opening up the portion between the firewall and intake like the Alta does. Well, I did this swiss cheese mod on my 06 last night and am getting a noise which I would like to know if it is normal for those that I mentioned. The Pilo has always had a small air sucking sound. Now, the sucking sound is still there but for a brief second when I press the accelerator, such as changing gears or increasing speed, I get a sucking sound that sounds like air through a straw. It's a high pitch pssst sound before it goes to the normal whooossshhhh sound of the cai. (maybe in addition to smilies, we can have audio smilies to help sometime)

Is this normal since I now have one less obstacle between myself and the CAI? I've checked and the intake to throttle body hose is firmly on the intake.

 

It's normal. You just couldn't hear it before unless you were sitting under your hood.
