I am planning on putting a set of nology hotwire and racing coilpack on to my 05 MCS. Anyone here been the owner of these two device, please share your experience. I will really appreciate it.

 

I recently installed the Alta CAI, Alta air to air intercooler, alta 15% pulley, scorpian exhaust and H sport spring on to my 05 MCS. I am wondering that after all these modification, do i need to have an ECU ungrade to make the car works better with the increased airflow, or the original ECU setting is good enough??

Since i havent been driving it after the modification, can anyone tell me how much these modification i listed above are going to affect the mileage from your own experience?

Also, if i put throttle body, manifold, header and rear swaybar to my 05 MCS, will an ECU ungrade necessary?

All the expert on NAM, please help me. Thx.

 

You were alright until you mentioned the rear sway bar. If you add that you will definitely need the wires and coil pack and ECU upgrade.

 

Can anyone give me more explaination about y i have to have a ECU upgrade when i put on the rear sway bar?

And do i need an ECU ungrade with only new throttle body, air intake, header, manifold, cam, exhaust, air to air intercooler and 15% pulley?

or is there an specific mod i do to my car will require an ECU ungrade???

Also, how much are the new throttle body, air intake, header, manifold, cam, air to air intercooler and 15% pulley gonna affect the fuel econ of the car usually??

He is joking .... you don't NEED to, but you might gain some HP, run cooler if you do the plugs and wires

 

The rear swaybar part was a joke .

As for your mods, you'll be alright with the stock software but your just about on the verge that an ECU would help. If you plan on adding more engine mods in the near future, wait for the ECU as you'll have to pay to update to the map that fits your mods. After the header, throttle body, manifold, you'd probably want to have an ECU upgrade to take advantage of the better flow.

NO. Why would you think you needed that stuff?

 

My Kingborne wires made a big difference in my car, I almost think the OEM wires were on the verge of faulty!

A lot of people on NAM have said they are nothing more than dress-up for the engine, so I was very skeptical. I could not definatively say what changed, but the butt-dyno says much faster. Also the engine at idle feels/sounds like it is running stronger.

Or maybe I just forgot my medication?

 

Actually I would recommend the MTH Tuner (12 mo of free updates, with a few exceptions) before those mods, and update the ecu all along the way. That way you get the most out of each mod!

I don't think your mileage will really be affected. I've even heard things about pulley's slightly increasing mileage. I wouldn't expect the other mods to hurt either as your not putting more fuel in. This is, of course, if you don't drive any harder than you do now.
