Anyone know anything about the new steering wheel rumor? has there ever been a different steering wheel...I have a 03 mini and want to see what it looks(ed) like????

 

I've heard about a "sport" wheel, the difference being only a couple of thumb grips on either side, but the general design stays the same.
I may be mistaken, though..

 

The new steering wheel also has perforated leather instead of solid leather.

 

I picked up my new 03 last week and it indeed had the new wheel and pedals. The wheel has the thumb grips, perforated leather, and is slightly more contoured. All nice improvements. The pedals and dead pedal all match, metal with rubber inserts. I will try to figure out how to post some pictures soon.

 

I also have this new wheel. It is chunkier than the previous steering wheel too.

 

Get out of here! The MINIs have medal pedals?! I'm so jealous!

The HK...equiptment looks far superior to the stock equiptment.
Now does it sound...any better????
The multifunction steering wheel...looks nice.... but no drastic change as I see it
The foot pedals...look terrific...like them alot.

i GOT AN 03 MINI ON TUES. AND I DIDNT GET THE NEW STEERING WHEEL OR PEDALS ..WONDERING IF IT IS JUST FOR THE S.....REALLY MAD IF NOT??? ANYONE KNOW IF THE NEW STEERING WHEEL IS EVEN IN THE STATES ...??

 

According to 866-ASK-MINI, the steering wheel and pedals are on the "S" only. Rumor has it you can buy the pedals at your local dealer though.

Great color choice on your MC BTW!!!

 

The new steering wheel is nice, but not worth the $500 you have to spend at the dealer to get it. Stick with your '02 wheel, or if you don't mind giving up your airbag, get an aftermarket momo or sparco wheel, you'll spend alot less.
