Navigation & Audio iPod Cuts Out @#$#$@
iPod Cuts Out @#$#$@
Ok, so I have both the Aux input and now an IPOD hook up in my MC '04 with HK system. When I used the Aux input I never really had any pbs with it cutting out. But, now since I have used the IPOD hook up, it will play just fine for the first 20 minutes or so, and then all of a sudden on the display of the radio I get "CD - 9 99" and then silence for a bit, and then the radio comes back on. I am not sure if it is my IPOD wearing out on the skipping memory from jiggling around in the glove compartment or if it is the IPOD link. I have a 40GB IPOD that is likely a 3rd generation IPOD. I am wondering if I need to consider getting a new IPOD checking out my link with the dealer or what???? Anyone have a similar experience? Thanks for any input.

My Ipod mini does that sometimes too. Doing a hard reset of the Ipod clears it up for long periods of time. I think it's related to me keeping it in the car 24/7 in extreme heat. Doing a periodic reset is more convenient than carrying it around for me though.
My iPod/adapter does this on occasion, but usually only if I've gotten it out of sync. The sync directions from the manual say something like plug the iPod into the adapter when the radio is on and unplug it when it when the radio is off. I think that's right...I'd look up the exact instructions but my car (w/manual) is at the dealer for the rest of the week 2 states away.
Also, usually if the 99 appears and it goes to the radio, if I turn the headunit off and back on, it recognizes the iPod again (you need to scroll back to iPod mode)...doesn't usually require an unplug of the iPod.
