Hello All,

Have 4 emmaculate 17" s-lites but one got a faint yellow-ish liquid stain radiating directly off the center of the rim on about 8 spokes.....

Tried BMW Wheel Cleaner

Tried Clay Bar

Tried "Elbow Grease"

Tired of Trying ....

Any homemade recipes !!!!

Cherry2005 turned me on to the power of tooth paste...

Really hard effort will remove the afor mentioned mystery stain... With a formula of Crest that has 'the abrassive light blue color'. Took 30 minutes to get 3/4 of the wheel done... Doing the last 1/4 tomorrow after work.

Thanks to Cherry2005 - another bullet missed....

 

And the old school white toothpaste has helped me with horrible allergic reactions to insect bites! Let's hear it for TOOTHPASTE! YAY!

The white kind, gently rubbed onto a DVD or CD and then lightly buffed off with a clean towel, will prevent any freezing or skipping (fills in the tiny cracks).

Oh - and it cleans your teeth, too

 

Definitely toothpaste if abraision is required. However, you might want to consider mechanics hand cleaner (no abraisive) before resorting to toothpaste.

 

I do remember using Drano on squeeky brake pads many years ago....

Boy the wheel funk was really on there (and just one wheel - Front, right)

 

clearbra installers recommended vinegar and leaving it in the sun to rid yellowing. it might work?

Toothpaste is basically just like using compound on your wheel. I have a feeling that the toothpaste is a little harsher than a fine cut compound. Just be careful if you decide to use it on the paint!!

 

man, if it's really a compound, my teeth would be gone by now....

 

In all honesty, it is a compound. There is a fine grit to it. Rub it between your fingers and then take some compound and rub that between your fingers. They will feel almost identical.
