Fiberglass supplies?
I wish to build my own fiberglass sub enclosure. Problem is, I can find a store here in Italy that sells epoxy resin in quantity.
I'm looking for about 2-3 gallons of epoxy resin, fiberglass cloth, some chopped mat. Anyone know of an online source that can send through the US Mail?
Thanks for looking!

Maybe that's excessive? I'm shooting for .75sqft box with at least 7 layers so that it will have zero flex. It will be holding a very heavy 12" Eclipse DVC.
Found a few DIY projects through google and a couple gallons (mixed) should be close.
Nice Fiero! Fun car. Pain to work on the motor though -- bending and reaching over the trunk. Owned one for 16 years, bought new.

before i start, the fiero thing....
why bend over, get a hoist, lift it from the rear frame and judt drop the motor out from underneath, after you get it down, it can be done in under 1/2 hour, in and out!!!!
ok,
7 layers?!?!!??!!?
my first question is, WHY!?
have you ever done a fiberglass enclosure before? the fiberglass shouldnt be load bearing, it have any of the weight distributed on it at all. you need to build elevated rings supported by uprights then lay your cloth over that, pull it tight to the shape you want, resin that up.
then start your fibeglass sheet laying. you shouldnt need more than 3 layers at the MOST!!!
i'm still working on a source for resin and fiberglass components, i'll let you know once i find you a supplier....

I intend to laydown the back side - against the driver's-side wall, in the boot. Once that's down, mount the ring and brace it, then stretch fleece from the ring to the sides and resin that. Finally, working through the ring, build up the interior with chop until there is no flex.
Looks like you're a body man there Red. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
Time to go to work....
ciao
remember, your still going to add some regitity with the bondo you will have to add over top of the glass to smooth it all out, unless you ar not painting it, then skip that setp and just add another layer of glass.

. To finish it off, I'll be filling it with bondo, and sanding/smoothing it down reasonable well, to cover with vinyl... perhaps carpet. Depends if I can stretch and bond the vinyl smoothly without deformations.
Appreciaite all the advice, Red!
