I could bearly watch, Last night on Junk yard wars, well, read for yourself...

Car Flinger
Catalysts vs. Season 9 Champion
Last year's champions, Jaguar engineers the Catalysts, return to the heap to do battle with this year's winners. The teams are given the challenge of building machines mighty enough to fling cars. Because of the scale of the test the teams have two days to build their canny contraptions, which turn out to be so large they can barely fit in the workshops. In a tense showdown, a giant catapult and a massive trebuchet try to throw cars as far as they can along a disused runway.

But the first two minis would not let them fling them. The first one would not launch and the second one broke the flinging machine. They could only launch one mini........... and it did not go very far.....

MINI's are tough.....they do not like taking the abuse.

Check out the show......but I must say that in england the wrecking yards must have has many old mini's as we have old fords in them.......

Everyone should watch his episode. The ending is hilarious.
Watching the replays on the trebuche (sp?) is classic.

Anytime they have to do anything to a car on that show, it's a Mini. Well, in the British versions, that is. The ones filmed in the US of course don't use Minis...Great show though, one of my favorites, but I forgot to watch! I'll have to catch a rerun...

Saw one last month where they turned a classic MINI into a car crusher, the other team used a Range Rover. Both of them were working on crushing what appeared to be Chevettes. The team using the MINI won, not bad since they almost burned the thing up!

I've seen them use Mini's many times on the show. Being shot in the UK, Mini's are common in junkyards. Besides, you think they could fling a Range Rover?

Yah, and after watching that episode I don't like the Long Brothers. The Long Brothers were the American team, and their competition were Brits. When the host asked the Long Brothers why the chose to use a Mini for their crusher, they said something to the effect of "We just thought it would be funny to beat them with the worst car they've got." Bleh, shows those silly farmer's wouldn't know a good car if they were building a crusher out of one (as the old saying goes...).
