Ok, I am a little miffed

SO I see all these great signatures from members of their cars, great descriptions, mods, etc .... then click on their GALLERY page ... and not one pic ... not even one.

I mean, come on ... you have a $20K car, surely you can splurge on a two hundred buck digital camera ...

Or is it some other reason people do not have pics in their gallery?

 

You've been a member here over 2 years and only offer us 3 measly pics of your MINI?

Click on my gallery and you'll see MINI's and other random stuff!

 

well, until a few weeks ago, i didnt hardly have enuff money for a car payment. not that i have enuff saved up, i bought a decent camera and an ipod. thats the price you pay for going to college....

 

hehehe ... and of course people responding are ones with huuuuge galleries

 

I cant speak for others but i personally do not want to use NAM as my photo host. I know for a while you couldnt even post photos from NAM on ANY OTHER FORUM. I dont know if that still holds true since i havent tried ever since, but it was much easier to just get my own host. So i have tons of pics of my car and the evolution as i added all the mods. They just dont happen to be in a NAM gallery.

Thats my reason...and it may be shared by others who found it easier to use their own site hosting.

 

I do agree with you that I wish more people posted more photographs in their galleries!

I use my gallery for more than MINI stuff. . . anytime I need to post a photo here or elsewhere, I upload it here since I know that it will always be accessible and easy to load for others. . .

 

most people are lazy, anyways........thats always a good excuse

 

I don't "host" my pics with NAM either, but to have a few cool pics of your car in the Gallery would be great ... for example, you just mentioned that you host your pics somewhere else and looks like you have some mods/wheels that would be interesting ... but still have no idea where to see them.

I agree, too! The galleries are so convenient...just share a few choice pics or so. Doesn't have to be your entire archive.

Thats all 16 pages of everything you could want to know about my car. It includes pictures of many of the mods i have done, and my attempts at learning car photography. (which means lots of pictures....i even used to have the same wheels as you )

EDIT::::I just realized that its a lot to read if you really just want pics(the reading may help if you ever want to read it though ) so i have around 30 pics and they are located on the following pages of the above thread: 4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14

I would love to put that link in my sig line.....but it has been my experience that trying to link to teammightyminiz in my sig line is heavily frowned upon by the mods....they see that site as competition even though its non-profit.

I just choose to place my pics elsewhere. I read a lot here, but don't post much anywhere except at carnut's garage, so that's where the mass of pictures is located.

 

Yes, there is another reason. The gallery link is there automatically, not by choice of the user. It is optional to use it, not obligatory.

I've got access to a awesome camera, a Canon Digital Rebel.

 

I also post my pics elsewhere so I can link them. I have tons on my Photobucket page and I do have my homepage (click my name at the top of the post) set to my OL resume which had TONS of pics of my car.

 

I love the NAM gallery. I stuck a couple dozen pics there over time. It's free. NO complaints here.

I put my other stuff (racing related stuff, personal, etc) on my comcast webhost.

 

i only have a real generic homepage but you're welcome to look at it. :smile:

My digital camera (Sony 4.1) and I are not playing well together. I was a much better photographer with my 35mm. I have pics posted but they are not very good. I'll try to get some better ones over the weekend

 

that's a really sharp looking Hyper Blue ... best photos of the color I have seen

 

I usually throw my pics on Webshots, as I can link to them in emails, web pages, etc.

The NAM galleries are nice, but I'll have to admit, this isn't the *only* forum I visit.
