Traffic Lawyer Recommendations?

On my way down to Hendick MIN for my brake job there was a shift in eartyhs gravitational forces and my foot goot very heavy on the long skinny pedal...Or while driving for a long period at mind numbing speeds my right leg began to swell with dependant edema and pressed harder on the skinny pedal..Anyway...

Long story short 77 in a 55 , got to go to STanly County Court in Albermarle. ANy good lawyers to get ? ANy Ideas how much $$$ I am going to leak?

I guess the trooper didn't like my "Guess a Yankee can't burn through the south like we used to. LOL" ( JUst kidding..I was Yes sir, no sir, visions of chain gangs and Cool Hand Luke going through my head.

Thanks for any help,

Paul

You might call your cop and see if he'll re-write you for 19 over. Hope you find a workable solution. Good to meet you today at Hendrick MINI! (Was the trip home slower than the trip there? <G>)

If you haven't had a ticket in a long time and the current penalty does not involve losing your license or anything more severe than emptying your wallet, you might not really need an attorney.

If you are polite and express a little remorse and explain your good driving record, a nice judge will probably lessen the fine and points against your license with or without an attorney. . .

Not in NC. Almost as bad as VA

See http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/driver_serv...spensions.html

+15 over and you lose your license for 30 days.

Oh yeah, KS is a sweet state. They don't even add points till you get over 80 and want to INCREASE their speed limits to 75. KS is a sweet state from driving across ... (within the legal limits of course)

Aw, come on. You were speeding, you got caught. The cop did his job better than you did yours.

Cough up the money and either learn how to play the game better or slow down.

Paul, sorry to hear of your meeting with the "spoiler of drives". If it was a state patrol man you might be able to get him to drop a few miles off the ticket. I wouldn't feel so sure about one of the city or county cops doing it though. They seem to be into the "cash generation" game more.

Wish I had known you were going to run 24/27 to Charlotte. I could have given you some heads up about the route.

Good luck with it!

My personal experience with tickets has been to do the following.

Get a copy of your driving record. Most states will do 3 years some will do 10. If you the record is clean take it with you to court. Talk to the trooper and show him the record. Tell him you are here not to contest his professionalism but to ask for a "Prayer for Judgement." This worked for me in Ky and Va. No points, no additions to the record, just a fine and court costs.....

Good Luck!!

Any update yet.

You should follow Bob to the AutoFair on Saturday. Just keep it legal.

I signed some paperwork with a lawyer and was told that I should get out of this with no driving points and hopefully no insurance points but $375 lighter in the wallet.
Court date: 10/10/2005

Sad to hear Paul, but it beats what the insurance charges would be if the points went through.

24/27 used to be such a nice cruising road, but it's been built up so bad that the police seem to be on it all the time now. I almost always see 3 to 5 county or state guys every time I roll down that way.
