Reset Procedure for ABS, DSC, Flat tire Indicator
Reset Procedure for ABS, DSC, Flat tire Indicator
I believe i lost one of my sensors yesterday... Not sure if it came back, but the car seems to be running fine after a brief lapse of its head when this happened. If i understand correctly it sounds like a wheel sensor or some other sensor had a fault which caused the ABS, DSC, and Flat Tire indicators to illuminate (which they continue to do) and if the fault was temporary I should be able to reset this by turning the key on and off 3 times. I tried but the indicators are still on.
I wanted to check if there was any trick to the sequencing of the key turns or if it looks like a sensor is gone, but the ECU has chosen to ignore it or readjust since the car now runs fine.
No real big deal since its under warranty, but thought I would dig into a bit on my own before taking it to Mini of Peabody.
Thanks!

The ABS will reset itself when the failure is corrected. Since this car is sold in europe, it complies to ECE13, which means that a good test must run before the light can turn off. If you have a wheelspeed sensor fault, after that is repaired, you only need to drive and the fault will reset itself. I've never heard of this 3 ignition cycles business for ABS only on engine ECUs.
