06 vs 07 for Autocross

I have a 03 MCS and have done extreamly well in autocross events until the 05 came along with improved gearing and LSD. I'm thinking about upgrading to an 06....or should I hold off for an 07? I haven't seen much published on the 07. Does anyone have any information that would help me decide?

Check www.motoringfile.com - there is a ton of info there on the development of the '07, especially on the new BMW-Peugeot turbo engine. Auto-Xwise, alot will depend on the new engine (and how quickly the turbo starts working) as well as the gearing adjustments they will likely make for the new engine/power-curve.
Do we even know if they'll use the same transmission with the '07?

Better Safe???

Thanks for the reply. Maybe the safe way to go is with the 06 for 2 a couple of seasons then trade up to the latest version once the bugs have been worked out. Still debating.

It's been rumored here that the rear multi-link suspension will disappear with the next generation ('07) car. Not sure if thats actually been corroborated.

Trading up from an '06 sounds a lot more expensive than spending $3500 for part and labor on your current ride to install an '05 trans/lsd.

SCCA Solo II Rules

Replacing the original transmission and adding LSD would not be permitted. See following SCCA rule.

Anything available on the exact model and year of your car as standard or optional equipment, as installed on the factory assembly line (nothing available only dealer-installed is allowed), plus
Standard OEM identical replacement parts

RC,
I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize you were running in sanctioned events. When I was running SCCA a couple decades ago, you could petition for updates or backdates if you were competing against new model specs in same class. You might consider trying that route. The '05 OEM trans/LSD certainly renders the pre '05s obsolete on the track.
