Winter tires/wheels for MCS

Hey, y'all - just bought a set of 4 winter tires on 15" holeys for our '04 MCS - they're mounted with 195 series rubber, good tread, less than one season on 'em. My question is: Are the narrower, taller sidewall tires okay for winter driving or did I get hosed on these? The effective diameter of the tires seems to be real close to what I have now, but I don't know if I should have held out for 16" winter rubber.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

Thx.

Bill

That's exactly what you want for winter driving. Narrower tread=more pounds per square inch to the ground for much needed traction.

The taller side walls with make the ride smoother.

Taller profile with narrow tread is exactly what you want for winter use.

Exactly what I am trying to get for this winter...but I don't think they are making the 15" holies anymore?? ...so I am working on a barely used set available a few hours from here.

Thx for all the replies. . .

I had a set of Falken Ziex's on it on some ASA JS5 wheels, and with the neg camber in the rear, well, I was sorta showing some cord on the inside of the left rear. . .oops!!

Well, as a temporary measure, I mounted the M+S rubber on the 15's and bolted 'em up tonight, and WOW! Smooth ride. Still pretty quiet, and spongy. I lost a lot of crispness, noise, and choppiness. It's like a different car.

Now I'm trying to decide whether to keep these on the car when I trade it next month and keep the ASAs or what. . .

Choices, choices, choices. . .
