Join us at the drive in!
This Friday night, some MINIs from MINIsota Motoring Society will be attending the Vali Hi Drive in Theater in Lake Elmo. We'll meet just a couple miles up the frontage road from the theater and then motor to the drive-in so that we can all get spots together. Our plan is to get there early to get a good spot, but also to break out the grills and beverages before the movies start.
This particular theater is going to be showing the following:
Stealth
The Dukes of Hazzard
War of the Worlds
Here's a link to the theater:

and how about meeting in the parking lot of the restaraunt at the intersection
of 94 and Radio Dr. at 7:30pm

It's farther along in the construction phase then is shown in the link, but it's
close to the frontage road and only a couple minutes from the theater. If you
zoom out you'll see it, or pan to the right.
Items to consider bringing:
blankets - grill - food - beverages - chairs - bug spray - money for concessions/video games - camera - pillow
Hope you can make it!

ROAD TRIP!!
I also just noticed how lame that picture above looks. Really folks, that's not the case - it looks better than that!
Sounds like we'll be having grill food and s'mores and campfire donuts - oh yeah.

bambam - I look forward to meeting you and MINDY! We'll be driving a BRG MC with a roof rack. It won't be long now!

It was a blast! We were several MINIs short, but that's okay - we had about 5 in all and were able to drive right in, no lines. We were parked at about the 3rd row from the screen and immediately set up camp and started getting the grills ready. My grill, however, was a little sad. My charcoal had gotten wet the night before and didn't want to stay lit....even if I coaxed it with LOTS of lighter fluid. Luckily there was another grill, so I didn't go hungry. We had steaks, brats, burgers, chicken, hot dogs, chips, sauted onions and peppers, vadalia dressing, pop, beer, wine, cookies and campfire donuts...it was a feast!
The order of the movis were The Dukes of Hazzard, Stealth and War of the Worlds. The Dukes got started about 9:20 or so...and it actually wasn't as bas as I thought it was going to be! It literally was like watching a long episode. Just a good ole time! I didn't realize the director was the dude from the Broken Lizard comdey team. You know...the guys who made Super Troopers. So that means all the characters were making appearances in the movie. It was great to see them all again.
We had more food and drink during the intermissio and I got robbed on a pinball game inside the concession stand cuz the right flipper didn't work. At all. I was bummed because the game had all sorts of ramps and loops....
One MINI left, as they had to work early the next day.
Stealth was up next. Not much to say about that...I'm glad it only cost me $3.50...It wasn't awful, but it wasn't all that good. My wife fell asleep and I think I heard someone else in the group snoring. We lost one MINI part way through.
After Stealth, we packed it in as we'd seen WoW already. It seemed like 2 MINIs were thiking about staying for the last flick.
The weather was perfect. No bugs and it started to get just a little chilly right near the middle of Stealth. The stars were bright and I saw to shooting stars.
It was a great nite, even though people were making fun of my wussy grill!
