Same Color Mini in the Neighborhood

Well it took me about six months to decide what color combo I wanted (PW / PW) chose it partially because I had never seen one so I knew it was pretty rare and the pics I saw looked pretty good. So I was walking the dog tonight and saw a PW/PW go into an alley. After chasing it down I discovered a person less than a block away has a PW/PW MCS! All this time I thought I was choseing a nice rare color and there is another one on the block!

Anybody else have people near them with a "clone" I am hopeing to get a pic of mine when it comes in with "big brother" since mine will be a MC and theirs is a MCS.

Not only do I have another PS MCS in town, but he also has a bike rack on. Well, I installed mine finally tonight and he already has his.
It does not really bother me, I am still cooler, plus mine has black wheels.

The MINI across the parking isle from me is the same color and year as mine, but it is an MC and mine is an S. PW/B. I ordered a PW/PW and had not seen one before, but when I saw photos of JCampos's PW/B on NAM I was hooked. I changed the order. When I got my car I learned his looks nifty because it has been lowered, has wider wheels and tires, has blacked out bits at the front end, and has oodles of unseen performance modifications--so that it even sounds good. Good luck with yours.

A guy 4 houses down from me has a DS/B '05. I'm sure he's mad because I recently bought a DS/DS '05. I have x-lites, he's got s-lites.

The other day I walked up to someone in a parking lot and said "for a moment there, I was wondering why some guy was loading groceries into my MINI."

He laughed, and said "You must be MINIMS."

Aparently his office is near mine, and he had noticed my MINI on one of those rare days when I drove it in to work.

Kinda fun having MINI twins. Be sure to giv'em and extra when you see them on the street!

This is exactly why I changed my mind about PW. I love the colour, but in the days leading up to my final purchasing decision, I saw two of them coming out of my neighbourhood (one PW/PW, one PW/B, both MC's). At that point I just couldn't bring myself to add a third PW to my neighbourhood.

I decided to go with a much newer colour that should be a little less common for another couple years; Black-Eye Purple (aka. Purple Haze). Also have some nice Viper-esque twin GT racing stripes running the whole car. Since it was a dealer job, I know there is one almost identical car out there, though I at least have my side mouldings painted. I hope to never cross that twin MINIs path...

I guess folks now understand why the world of aftermarket and custom cars is so popular. My car is very special and unique. Although most parts are mainstream I have not seen another one quite like it yet.

Indeed, and that's why I've avoided cookie cutter cars like the plague! No Civics/Corollas/Lancers/et al. here. Even with aftermarket stuff, they still look the same!

Monday of this past week, a very similar MINI to my CR MCSC was parked in the parking lot in my office building. Differences where it was a MCc and had red mirror caps instead of chrome and different wheels. Several of the folks I work with, asked if I bought a second MINI , or if it was common to get a clone.

There are 6 mini's in my office park, but luckily we're ALL completely different EB/EB, PH/PH, CB/Blue conv't, B/B (mc, don't know the exact color), DS/W, and my LY/W.

I went to a local mall for the first time a couple months ago, and passed TWO LY/W in front of the same STORE! Then i saw one in another mall lot, and a LY/LY lives somewhere past my house (yes, TWO mini's in Bumpass!) But i haven't been able to flag them down, they go excessive speeds :( I DID get a picture of them flying past me while i was taking pictures of the storm. By PURE luck.

I get comments all the time from locals thinking they saw me, but it was just another look alike (it's actually been me 5 times, i must drive alot!). I thought my combo was rare (i never saw it before, so when i saw MINE i fell in love!) but now they're EVERYWHERE!

I have seen a BRG and a DS in our neighborhood - driving through. I know they live somewhere within a mile of us or so... But haven't seen anybody yet with the colors we have...

Donna
02' CR/W MCS (gone to MINI heaven - burned up)
05' Cool Blue MCSC "Ariel"

There's a purple conv't at the end of my boyfriends street, a PS/B one at the foot of his neighborhood, IB/W down the street from work, a PW/B a couple street over...

I could go on for days. I know where every mini is around here :P

I hope you don't mind my asking, but is it Bum-pass or Bump-*** Va.? I lived in Lynchburg Va. for 5 years, from 1979-84. Virgina is a beautiful state. I miss it a lot.

I wish I could find a MC like mine or even close. So far I have only seen 1 in Charleston at the battery and it was SG/B.

Pw/b

I bought my PW/B because I saw one not too far from my house and loved it. Once in a while I get to see myself "coming and going!" I kind of feel sorry for the owner, though, because I have a friend on the local police force that waves at my car...and quite possibly my twin! Poor fella probably wonders why the cops are so fascinated by his car!
