Hi Guys, I'm a new kid on the block. I found MC/OnLine quite by accident and really enjoyed everyone's comments on their Mini Experience, useful info and comradery. I didn't realize that every Mini owner and "soon to be" owner shared the same enthusiasm and delivery fever as I have. I was becoming a real bore with my friends 'cause my thoughts and talks would always go back to extolling the virtues of the MCS. After learning about the 1K$ deposit and the 1 year waiting list, I didn't think I'd ever own a Mini. The sales rep, John Tosti Jr. of Princeton Mini in Princeton, N.J. was fixing me up w/ a PS/Blk with about 5K$ worth of options that most of which I didn't really want. He warned me the car might not wait but I told him I'd let him know the next day. When I called that morning to tell him I decided to buy, he informed me that he had some good news and some good news and asked which I wanted to hear 1st. OK, I'll bite. Let's hear the good news. OK, Your car's was sold 2 hrs after you left last nite. That sounds like bad news. No, that's good news but the other good news is better. I found an E-mail telling us there's a PS/Blk MCS w/ no options on the ship and will be here in 2 wks. "I'LL TAKE IT!!!!" I screamed, so loud he could hear me W/O the phone. Five days after that conversation I went to pick up My Cooper S. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm gloating over my fantastic good luck. I can relate to the people who have to endure the long wait and suffer the anxiety. Oh, What the heck! I GOT MY MINI!!!! PS/Blk MCS Built "Lite for Flight!" "I found my youth in my Mini S Coop!"

Thanks for the yell, guys. As long as you've had to wait for your Cooper, I think it will be well worth it. If it's any consolation, you will have a thousand times that amount of time to enjoy your Cooper. I have about 6K Miles on the odom and still feel the same thrill I got when I first drove it.

MidLife: Those of us with lots of posts under our keyboards commend you for surviving the wait (no matter how long or short) alone, and without the MCO Support Group (especially the "Can't Wait For" Clubs - check them out to see what you missed).

We believe each dealer should be telling their prospective customers and buyers about MCO - it makes for a much more informed and excited owner.

He Mark F: How about organizing us into an email campaign extolling the virtues of MCO? Create a quick database of the dealers, with the email address of the Sales Manager, and leave the rest up to the MCO faithful. We'll get members, guaranteeed!

Great to hear your post! I also got my MCS PS,PS in 5 days. At the right place at the right time . (Sept 19) so far 3500 miles. not a hint of a problem, just lots of fun. On the day I landed my MCS I first visited Princeton Mini with no luck, then drove to Don Rosen Mini in Phila. Pa. and sealed a deal in aboue fifteen minutes.

Fate is real

Hey Midlife, I like your screen name. Speaking of Midlife Crisis, I get that comment all the time. My response is "You have to grow up first to have a midlife crisis!"
Welcome to MCO

Great News for you; hurray! Interesting how many of us found MCO so late in the process. Motor on! So many of us are just barely breathing waiting for our specially ordered 'mobiles. Yours sounds great for you, but I know I couldn't live with out Park Distance Control.

Welcome, MLC!

MCO is a great clubhouse of MINI-camaraderie! Um...I'm not having a mid-life crisis...I'm on my second or third adolescence!

Cheers!

Hi Jingers. Who Wouldda thunk it! Another MCS in 5 days! And Pure Silver at that! I declare ourselves Co-Founders of the "I Got My Mini in 5 Days Club!" seriously though, I mean this good naturedly. If you see me on the road give me a wave and yell out my name. If I see you, I'll do the same. BURMA SHAVE

I was trying to explain that the first MCS I was looking at was sold from under me when I hesitated over the 5K$ in options that I didn't really want. This is when the sales rep became aware of a 2nd MCS scheduled for delivery within 2 wks. This car had no options except for a $400.00 charge for Metallic Pure Silver paint. I accepted delivery in 5 days. I paid sticker price. $19,300.00 cash.

Congrats on the car, it sounds just like mine. I wanted a no option S as well, besides the metalic paint mine only has Xenon's and heated seats, close enough to what I wanted plus no waiting. Although I did have to ship it across the country, CA dealers are horrible with the mark-ups.

Welcome to MCO! You are lucky! Just pat yourself on the back that you were at the right place at the right time and got the color combination you wanted to begin with!
